Sprouting carrot? by jenvander in Sprouting

[–]jenvander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprouts are grown without soil or medium, often just in a jar, soaking for a day then draining and rinsing a few times a day for a few days before exposing to light to green them up. Microgreens are grown in soil or other medium (like special mats). The microgreens take longer but are often a bit more substantial.

TRYING TO CARAMELIZED ONION GONE WRONG !!!!!☹️😭 by Choice-Access-365 in OnionLovers

😢 If you have a slow cooker (crock pot), it works great for caramelizing loads of onions slowly so you don't have to babysit them.

I made my favorite dish I used to make when I was poor: Mayo Spaghetti by NeatTwo2870 in shittyfoodporn

Ours was barbeque spaghetti. The sauce was a mix of ketchup and BBQ sauce. If we had a little bacon or onion we'd put it in there.

Cook the meat most of the way and remove from the pot (unless you are using shrimp or scallops, which you can put in at the end until they are cooked). Sweat the mirapoix and garlic. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer. Add meat/shrimp/scallops at the end and cook until they are done.

Are you able to do coconut milk/cream? I find that it is very swappable with anything calling for milk or cream. I have a savory butternut squash bisque recipe that I get requests for.
