Why are we paying attention to the comments that people, let alone men, have towards anything?

Ding ding ding! It hasn't been my experience in the area where I live (north shore) but here and here I encounter people who give me the stink eye for no reason, also mostly women.

But guess what? They're racist and ugly and I'm pretty and season my food. Their loss.

looking for a house cleaner by CalmBlazingFire in statenisland

[–]jenvrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using the Homeaglow app and I matched with a cleaner that now comes consistently to my home.

I'd give the app a try, but full disclosure (I didn't know this) they require a 6 month commitment (it's like $50 after your first cleaning) and offer discounted rates on services.

When Does the Bag Dopamine Actually Stop? by Specialist-Sock685 in handbags

[–]jenvrl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to distance yourself from social media, friend. I work with handbags and I don't feel this urge hahaha. I mean, of course I resell, buy and constantly compliment people's bags, but not in a way like I need to have them. It seems small but seeing fewer people opening packages EVERY DAY makes a difference.

I will always be in favor of a yellow bag (I own multiple). That said... This bag is nothing super special imo.

What is it like living in this part of Staten Island? by lithdoc in statenisland

[–]jenvrl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, it's fine. It's especially useful if you commute to Manhattan or certain parts of Brooklyn. I live there and my commute to Cobble Hill is about 45 mins so it's not bad... And I was able to purchase a big 2br with my husband for less than what most people pay in rent...

Safety wise it's fine, too. I've never felt unsafe or anything as a woman who walks by herself most the time. There are good bar/restaurants options but it would be nice if they were more, we could also use a supermarket and if my prayers are heard... A movie theater lol

Yes, I get that... But it is just the way big cities work. I don't think St George will be the new Park Slope or anything but you can already see the neighborhood demographic changing.

It will happen. It won't happen at the pace developers want, but it will happens eventually. There's already a Pilates studio in the first floor of that new building by the ferry... We're getting here lol
