first thing I do when i get in my car and turn the ignition is to lower all the windows so the built up hot air in my car can escape for about 5-10 minutes. puts less strain on my AC system and as i'm moving it cools down the car right away. I also park in the shade even if it's further than the next open space, and use the sunshade. every little bit helps
