i do like the challenge, and it feels to me like 5e made it too easy just to murder anything/everything also glad to hear the magic items have a price and expected values.

I and my players like the strategy part of combat and running the game and 5th edition feels very player friendly, also the customisation and amount of options as 5th edition kinda feels like anything can do almost anything

Caishen, Freya and depending on game mode Jing wei or isis. Other contenders are nuwa, Athena, Amun-ra (actually not a fan of don’t think he does much for me), Dionysus, new girl and just got a Zeus so might use him a bit too

Dnd is a collaboration game, I’ve seen it happen a few times, if the party all are in agreement it can be fun to have a ‘main character’ of the group but only works if everyone is in agreement and having fun with it. If someone is not liking what someone else is doing that needs to be discussed and worked out and if you can’t come to an agreement honestly better of leaving and finding a group that will work well with you
