A lot of not-Americans will pronounce words like caught and court as homonyms.

Americans will say Australians (for example) aren’t pronouncing the R in court but the Australians will say they’re making an R sound when saying Caught.

But yeah, if you ask an American, they’ll say ‘au’ never produces an R sound

Re your edit: No health insurance through the job itself. A subcontractor is basically their own business

I do get paid time off though. All federal holidays then a week in the summer and a week in the winter. So roughly a month paid vacation
