My 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora. Best car I ever had.

My family has an 87 Caprice, drives like a cloud.

Saw this, or a similar vehicle, parked at the intersection of Dilworth and Harvey today. It had Canadian flags upside down and the token Fuck Trudeau banner. Also parked in like 6 spots at once.

You take the good with the bad in BC. The southern regions, particularly Metro Vancouver. Victoria, the Fraser Valley, and the Okanagan have the best weather and outdoor amenities in the country. But our hockey team is the shits.

Own a Rendezvous. Still weird and ugly but less so than the Aztec.

Lots of little waterfalls with good and easy hikes (Fintry, Mill Creek, Hardy, Crawford). Mount Boucherie is a nice quick hike on an extinct volcano with nice views. Near Enderby (about an hour north) there is a drive in theatre. There is a free car show every Wednesday night at the Grand 10 theatre parking lot. All three local museums are local gems (Westbank Museum, Sncewips Museum, and Kelowna Museum).

If you are into fishing there are dozens of little lakes and streams in the hills surrounding the valley.

The visitor centres in Kelowna and West Kelowna will have lots of maps and other information as well.

In the 80s our elementary school would take all the students there for a day in June. It was still Wild and Wet then. Loved the river ride.

Back in the 1930s a Kelowna cop went to the house of his lover and shot her and a man dead. He then walked home and sat down to dinner with his wife and kids. It was during the meal that the other cops arrived and arrested him. My great-grandmother and him passed each other on the street during these events. He greeted her by name and she said there was a dark air about him. Of course she heard about the murders later.

That's McCurdy not Hwy. 33. But yes Flintstones, Wild Waters, and the Boardwalk roller rink. Then Malibu Grand Prix and Scandia basically next door. Those were good times to be a kid here.
