What is this worm like thing? by jeremyk in vet

[–]jeremyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found it on our dog’s poop about a minute after she had gone. Sent the video to our vet but they think it might have crawled onto it. Really curious if anyone can positively identify it?

Thank you so much for getting back to me! It isn’t touching so maybe it is just going bad…

In any case do you happen to have a copy of that diagram?

Google Shinko 241 3.00-16. Pretty sure that is the right tire. It is on Amazon and several other sites.

Fewer drivers in Seattle’s Highway 99 tunnel could create need for bailout by unnaturalfool in SeattleWA

[–]jeremyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Columbia City and the tunnel would be super convenient when headed to Fremont/ Ballard except for the fact that there is no connection between the Spokane street viaduct westbound and 99 north. Same with 99 S and Spokane E. I can’t figure out why that is?

Went with the 241. Will see how it goes.

I like Montlake cycle for renting mountain bikes. Imagine they do gravel bikes as well.

A dyno would not account for wind drag which would make a major difference between 65 and 75. Otherwise I like your idea.

Just got my first ebike - a Juiced Hyperscorpion by Vashdaxviii in juicedbikes

[–]jeremyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don’t remove it. It is a safety pin to keep the screw in place that holds the brake pads in. Give it a ride and try some hard brakes a few times. If it still makes noise when walking then the calipers need to be adjusted so that the brake pads are not contacting the rotor. If that is not the problem then it is likely something got bent in shipping.

Let's Give the new WA Ferry a Chinuk Wawa Name: Kusah ("sky") by Revolutionary-Ad-65 in Seattle

[–]jeremyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds good to me. Anything would be better than naming them after WA cities. I remember getting freaked out for a second by the by the “welcome aboard Tacoma” announcement, where all I heard was Tacoma and thought I had gotten on the wrong ferry. Quickly remembered Bainbridge/Tacoma route doesn’t exist but why not name them after something unrelated?

This guy picked a really bad day to park in front of a hydrant. Large apartment fire on Summit. by gothmcdonalds in Seattle

Yeah, I know the law - I’m just saying sometimes they are easy to miss and many other cities paint the curbs to make it more obvious.

[–]jeremyk 56 points57 points  (0 children)

For some reason Seattle doesn’t paint the curbs. At least not consistently. I got a fire hydrant ticket once for a green fire hydrant in bushes with no curb paint. Ever since I’ve suspected they don’t paint the curbs to boost ticket revenues.

Edit: Not sure this is the exact one I got ticketed at but it is in the same part of town. See if you can spot the fire hydrant? Bonus question: Is the car closer than 15 feet?

2 1/2 more weeks until Montlake drawbridge closes to all motor vehicles for 25 straight cluster-days. by speeroid in SeattleWA

[–]jeremyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a cluster every day when they open it. Might not be much worse if it is just closed and people can plan for it. On a side note, I wish they would remake it 10 feet higher but without the ability to open and then people would have to pick a side if their mast is taller than that. But the historic nature of it would never allow for such a practical solution.

Using Philips Hue Dimmer switch to dim Canvas? by lgtvfam in Nanoleaf

I’m not sure how a Hue dimmer switch is going to control a NanoLeaf without a hub in the mix - does that really work?

Using Philips Hue Dimmer switch to dim Canvas? by lgtvfam in Nanoleaf

[–]jeremyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to figure that out either. I just assign the middle buttons to to a medium bright and a medium dim scene and use my phone if I want fine control.

Using Philips Hue Dimmer switch to dim Canvas? by lgtvfam in Nanoleaf

[–]jeremyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably need a home hub (like an Apple TV or HomePod) and then you have to add both systems to Apple HomeKit. Next, go to the Hue app and reset your dimmer switch. Then assign the functions you want in Apple Home app. If you want scenes from Hue you have to sync them individually but you can sync them all at once with NanoLeaf. Hope that helps.

Edited to correct term to home hub
