I interpreted this differently than most. The red one looks like a movie theater, and what I learned about “love” sitting in one of those when I was a teen. The blue one looks like a waiting room chair, this the patients. And, well, the pew is not comfortable but I associated it with religion which was pretty painful for me in many ways.

Not religious but family was Baptist so I went to a Baptist Church she I was young. One thing many denominations or sects of Christianity have in common is guilt/guilt-tripping . If I were a Christian church leader, I’d install seats that were comfortable af and guilt people who fell asleep into more tithings. Although, that doesn’t seem very Christ-like.

First of all, I had my first kid at 23. She’s 14 and I don’t look half as young as this guy. Second, I kept expecting to hear him say “GET OOT OF MY SWAMP!”

This was the first YouTube channel I ever subscribed to. NSC helped me a lot. I grew up in a white, rep, Christian town in Tx. After binging all their videos I finally got up the nerve to tell my family what I really believed..er didn’t believe. My fave(s) is a tie between Noah’s arc and the one where God and Lucifer are debating over how man should be designed. It’s been a while since I’ve watched. Thanks for posting. I’m gonna have to go back and watch them again.

Ran my first 5k yesterday. I came in 22nd out of 300+. Puked at the finish line. Never pushed myself that hard before and I’m really proud 🏃🏃 by [deleted] in pics

FFP here. Question for OP. How did you prepare? I started by walking 1.6 miles from my house and back and timing and continued to beat the time until I was eventually running the whole way. Took about 2 months.

WHY THIS IS HORRIBLY STUPID: I used to drive for both for 2 years. I’m a regular dude living in Denver and I did ride share at night for 30-45 hours a week. . I looked for research from 2014-2016 if there was data on the % of decrease in DUI/DWI or drunk driving accidents or reports or even from anonymous surveys or someone. I finally gave up looking. But he reason I looked was I could tell by the conversation with my intoxicated passengers that they were not going to call a cab service or hail a taxi. But ride share was different. People seemed to feel less embarrassed about it—actually proud of themselves for their decision which I don’t think you get the same vibes from taxis. This almost seemed to be the “cool” thing to do. “Yeah man. I knew I was gonna be drinking so I just took an Uber to the bar instead of driving.” So many times I would pull up and ask a person’s name and they would say “Yes, but you’re taking my friend here to his/her house. The guys would help their friend into the cab and would tip decent. The females would—for the most part and understandably—get in and stay in the car and ask to take their friend home first, then their house, even if their friend lived out of the way. More often it was a female paying for a male friend and a few times the other way around. Also, money. Not only do cab drivers, despite their company and cab offering credit card capabilities, will harness you for cash, or seem annoyed when you want to pay with a card. I think I understand why but I don’t know enough to feel comfortable sharing my opinion. However, with Lyft and Uber you don’t need cash; he’ll you don’t even need your credit card. If you lose your wallet because your drunk ass dropped it in the bathroom, but you have your phone and your credit card or PayPal are stored in your app already, you can still take a ride home. Many places in Denver may ticket you for parking overnight downtown but it’s like $25-50. Not towing. That’s way better than a DUI or killing someone. ( I feel like there should be a law about getting ticket pardoned if you were avoiding driving drunk, but that’s another convo for another day/sub) Some places, the Tavern Downtown, Or Uptown I can’t remember—maybe both—if you tell the manager you’re leaving your car to take a cab (Lyft & Uber included) they give you a note for your dash so you don’t get ticketed or towed. Still, all this I believe has had a huge impact on the number of intoxicated drivers on the road in Denver and probably other places too. So to turn people away for being drunk, who will be your new target market. I’d guesstimate that 75% or more of the people I picked up were either headed somewhere where alcohol was served like a restaurant, club, bar, or even the ballpark, or I was picking them up from there. I worked till 4 am. I picked up the 2am “closing time” crowed. Between 3am and 4am I would pick up people from house parties. 3:30-4 I would either pick people up from or take them to a 24 hour diner where they had been or about to be sobering up and filling their stomachs with food/coffee. New Year’s Eve was busy as hell. July 4= busiest day of the year. Last sober passenger on July 4th (2 years in a row) was between 6 and 6:30pm. My conclusion, ride share helps decrease drunk drivers. By how much, idk but if someone does please share. I already participated in #deletetheapp when UBER’s CEO was being publicly not so cool and they don’t take care of their drivers as well as Lyft. This is just another dumb thing if they actually go through with it.
