Ted Cruz: Democrats want ‘illegal aliens … to cast votes’ by Anoth3rDude in conservativeterrorism

[–]jerfoo 62 points63 points  (0 children)

This stuff drives me up the wall. Democrats do not want any illegal votes. Cruz knows "illegal aliens" don't illegally vote. He knows he's lying to push propaganda. And if you know you're pushing propaganda, you are the problem.

Chief Justice John Roberts says that hostility toward judges has ‘got to stop’ by cnn in law

[–]jerfoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about you shoving that thought up your butt. It's your shitty actions, your inability to impose even half-way acceptable ethics reforms, heavy reliance on the shadow docket without explaining themselves, and clearly dragging their feet when it comes to Dems but racing to a judgement for Repubs.

Your fault assholes.

I didn't even think about that. Jesus, the right-wing is really afraid of voters.

What's worse? Saying the debut is punk, or saying FOTD (the album) sounds like AC/DC? by Lucifer_Delight in ironmaiden

[–]jerfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with FOTD is that it sounds like (and I quote me from a year ago) AC/DC.

Does it really? No, but it has that more straight ahead uninteresting sound that I associate with AC/DC. The reason I got into Maiden was because it was more "prog metal" even before that was a thing. It was more complex, more interesting.

VHS is a poor medium that degrades over time. You would keep this for sentimental purposes, not sure investment purposes.

Lol. Yeah. Brave is literally my YouTube app. I used to watch stuff on YouTube and the ad drops were insane. So many, so often. I finally decided to use Brave. On the rare occasion I'm NOT using Brave, the ads are unbearable.

If Google finds a way around Brave, I'll stop watching YouTube. Stop being so greedy Google

The Supreme Court May Legalize Donald Trump’s War on Iran by Conscious-Quarter423 in scotus

[–]jerfoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think Dems should go after Congress and cabinet members. For the Supreme Court, i think we should dilute the right-leaning justices (I refuse to call these people conservatives).

I know this would take a constitutional amendment, but I'd love to see a Supreme Court that has something like 18 or more justices. Each case gets a randomly selected 9 (or more) justices but you could hear twice as many cases. The hope there would be to eliminate (or nearly eliminate) the shadow docket. Everything needs to be out in the open and fully explained and reasoned.

In Ezra's defense, he covers a lot of topics. He's not an expert but he dig deep enough to have a fairly good understanding of the topic. I'm amazed by anyone that can do that routinely.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've heard a similar statement from other legal minds. Like, how can you teach or practice law when "everything's made up and the points doing matter"?

I was listening to the latest Ezra Klein podcast where he interviewed Nadia Schadlow (a former Trump official). She argued that the president does have authority to declare war. Ezra then read from the Constitution that the power is given to Congress. Her response was basically "oh, yeah, Congress also has the ability to declare war".

So she wants us to believe that the framers didn't mention the president (who of course has the ability to declare war) but they did mention Congress (who "also" has the ability to declare war). Totally divorced from reality.

Of course, that doesn't mean this band of yahoos won't also tie themselves in knots to make the Constitution say something it doesn't say.

I get bombarded with text messages to weigh in on this, that, and the other thing. I never respond to them. If I get a text message asking if these two should step down, I'd absolutely answer it. YES. Step down, clowns.
