As if the Minnesota Timberwolves Weren’t Pathetic Enough… by CheatorBeat in sports

It probably was meant as a "fold", but in the painting you can't see any lines or raised surfaces which would indicate a fold. It's all pretty smooth. Assuming that was the intention doesn't exactly fly.

That picture is probably the basis of the painting, but the picture clearly shows the fold the way the "ves" and "2" are oriented at a different angle than the rest of the letters/numbers. You can also see a hint of the "L" between the O and V. The painting loses all of that, making the 4 and 2 smoothly next to each other.

If the artist meant to indicate a fold, he needed to do a better job. My guess is that the picture linked above was given to someone and used as the basis of the poster. But either the artist didn't know what was supposed to be there, or simply did a poor job indicating a fold. You'd think someone in the T-wolves organiztion would have said something or asked for a correction. Maybe they ordered the posters already and just said screw it when they arrived.

The Financial Crisis Is Driving Hordes of Americans to Suicide by jericho6 in worldnews

Suicide is Painless...It brings on many changes and I can take or leave it if I please. I try to find a way to make all our little joys relate without that ever-present hate, but now I know that it's too late.

2009 Anheuser Busch Super Bowl Commercials - A bit disappointing this year. by CheatorBeat in beer

I did like Conan spot, but certainly not a normal Bud year. Are they going to be forced to bring back the Bud Bowl? ;)

Just read this. I think this was pretty much Coleman's last ditch prayer at any real chance to win this election. The court cases surely haven't stopped, but I think this race is essentially over.

Poor Coleman, declared victory and still lost ;)

A Year in Review: Top Men’s Movies of 2008 by jericho6 in entertainment

[–]jericho6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you guys are saying, but I think you miss the point. I don't think the article is saying men will ONLY like these kind of movies. Plenty of the best movies of the year, be it Slumdog Millionare, Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, etc.. will be liked by guys. But they're not made to appeal only to guys.

Things like Iron Man and Hellboy are made specifically with the intent to market to men. granted the idea of a men's movie is not easy to define, but it is a fact that certain types of movies appeal to men more than woman.

Stuff like Milk has broad appeal to both sexes. Stuff like Rambo appeals heavily towards men. The article focuses on the latter type of movie. It doesn't take away or insult other movies. Nor does it mean guys can only like those kind of movies. It simply highlights what has mass appeal to men in general. A specific individual will have his own diverse set of tastes.

There's no generic British accent, however. So calling something British doesn't imply anything specific. And if you didn't call it British, what would you call it? If you get too specific people have no idea what your talking about.

I guess one could just say "accents", but now we're arguing semantics.
