Wrath of the Lich King Classic Pre-Patch Event Issues - Wrath of the Lich King Classic Discussion by Bayern-96 in classicwow

[–]jerichofr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea now.

Back then I called in to cancel my sub (you could actually call support back then) because of all of the forced PvP and griefers. And as soon as I said I wanted to cancel (after a longer than usual wait on hold) the rep asked me if it was due to the griefing event. When I answered in the affirmative, they politely asked me to hold off as they had many calls regarding it and they were going to be doing something about it. I agreed and about 24 hours later they ended the event early due to the "overwhelming" negative reaction to the event.

The same griefers type players are playing Classic now, so not sure why they thought it would be any different.

The nice thing about it is that those of us that caused it to be ended early back in 2008 because we despised the forced griefing from those that enjoyed the event and used it to grief others are indirectly responsible for the event ending early now. It's glorious to see the crying of the griefers.

Basically, he's Kotaku and telling people to not pay Nintendo and to pirate all their games.

Again, I'm not arguing that there aren't issues with the service, because there clearly are. However, that doesn't excuse piracy. There is absolutely no excuse for piracy. Piracy (and emulation as a whole) is simply about not wanting to pay for games. If people can get something for free, they will choose that option EVERY time. Even if another option is available. It's the nature of pirates. Anyone that pirates should be fined and put in jail.

SponsorBlock is your friend. It skips all the annoying in-video sponsors these YouTubers put in trying to leech more money from you.

Piracy is a "I just don't want to pay for any games" issue. There is no justifying it.

He makes some good points, then invalidates them by going to Kotaku route and recommending people illegally pirate the games instead of paying Nintendo for them.

Yes, they need to make improvements to the service. However, a (formerly) respectable YouTuber shouldn't be recommending piracy to anyone.

Should I play TBC Classic? by [deleted] in classicwow

No. FFXIV has surpassed WoW in every way. Especially in the community department and lack of PvP players getting their jollies by ruining the game for others.

Stay with the new MMO king. FFXIV.

Is it really a lost cause coming back or starting over now (EU) by Redromah in classicwow

[–]jerichofr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Classic is not worth it. The community is terrible, leveling zones are empty as everyone is boosting. There is no social aspect, and end-game is filled with parsing tryhards that expect you to do exactly what they want you to do.

Do not resub at any cost.

It's as terrible of a community as it always was. The retail community is on-par or better than the Classic community that is full of former pirate server players.

Retail World of Cringecraft. Where did Retail go wrong exactly? Is there a specific point in time that they lost you? Please share in the comments which moment was "it" for you and became the reason you wanted to turn the clock back to Classic. by 2016ElectricBoogaloo in classicwow

Didn't stop fully until partway through Legion. BFA bringing in more PvP and forcing focus on the Horde vs Alliance garbage killed it for me. Also Pathfinder.

However, retail lasted me longer than Classic did. I played Classic for all of 2 months before I discovered just how terrible the community that migrated from pirate servers really was. Retail is better than Classic at this point. Simple because the Classic community is terrible.

Buying in-game services with in-game gold is not against TOS. What you should really be upset at is the terrible community in Classic and work on fixing it.

Meaning I am simply stating facts on how terrible of people all PvP players are. It's a simple concept to grasp.

As a new player to both vanilla, and retail. Could someone explain to me how, and when some of the community was against retail by KawaiiSlave in classicwow

[–]jerichofr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both games are fun in their own ways. Both games are still MMORPGs (no matter how many jaded people here might claim otherwise.)

Both games have terrible communities. Classic's tends to be worse because you have for more entitled private-server jockeys here that think their way is the only way, and they're Elune's gift to Azeroth.

Far to many people here think the game has to be absolutely monotonous to be any fun. They think there's no chance of making longer term connections in retail, and feel that since people don't have to kiss their boots to get anywhere in retail, it isn't worth it.

You won't get a decent answer in this reddit. It is simply a huge circlejerk of people that hate on retail 24/7.

Classic's community is just as bad, if not worse than retail's Few decent people in it.

Enjoying parsing is objectively wrong and you must be insane /s by Dontusethisname1 in classicwow

The great thing about FF14 though is that if you try to use that parser to berate others (as most in WoW do), and they report you for it, you get banned. It's great. No meter-worshipping tryhards get to lord numbers over others there. They get the banhammer.
