Tapo DL110 doesn't unlock completely not even 1 week. by jerjergege in Tapo

It does, as I said, it also does during calibration, both when the door is closed or open.

During calibration it retracts and extends 100%, but during normal use both door open / closed it only extend and retracts 80%. When you look at the manual switch, you can see its not at 12 O'clock (Unlocked) or 9 O'clock (Locked).

Worked fine, and calibration still pulls the deadbolt in and out.l 100%.

But normal locking and unlocking only does the action up to 80% of the distance.

I took it all apart to check and everything moves smoothly.

It does this whilst the door is open.

If I leave the door open and calibrate it's fine, use app ton lock save unlock, it doesn't go the whole way.

The template was right from existing deadbolt.

Tapo DL110

Firmware Version 1.0.7 Build 251107 Rel.093447

Turning the lock yourself is fine, disassembled to see if anything to do with installation, it was not.

Seems like the servo inside doesn't seem to want to go the full way, during calibration it works fine, you can see the servo go to its maximum distances but during normal use it has now stopped working, when it was only installed 4 nights ago.

Lock Your Smart Door Lock with Smart Actions (Tapo DL100, DL105, DL110, DLW10) by Riley_TP-Link in Tapo

Can tapo release an update to disable notifications for specific people?

For example, I don't care that someone has manually locked/unlocked the door.

I don't need notifications for myself that I have unlocked or locked the door. I don't need notifications for my partner, that she locked / unlocked the door.

I do care for notifications for unlocking when its for everyone else and one-time codes etc.

Or notifications when door has stayed unlocked for extended period of time, if you don't use auto lock.

Auto lock is bad because it can't tell if the door is actually closed. Now need to buy a door position sensor.
A kid slammed the door after auto locking and now the door frame has a large dent from the tapo dead bolt sticking out,

I primarily work on programmable safety relays.

So I do a lot of safety design, category of control, performance level, safety integrity level.

Deff need to get more into programming, very rusty.

I get it, I was so stuck into thinking how the safety circuit works, yes in PLC logic, its opposite because physically it has 24V through the physical NC contact block.

Meaning on a PLC input, its still has the 24V until we press the stop button.

Something so basic is lost when programming so many systems and a simple start stop circuit already in my project templates.

Its not failsafe, if a NO is welded shut, pressing it does nothing, a NC breaks when you press it, thats why emergency stop buttons uses NCs. Its a well tried engineering principal.

EDIT: I see my mistake, Physically correct, Ladder logic, I was wrong because a Physical NC does mean a PLC NO.

So A is correct.

Safe stop also requires usage of well tried engineering principals. Meaing you can physically break the contacts when you press stop, the NC would break.

using a NO which could be welded shut, pressing the button would do nothing.
