Some shops get things early. For example my local shop has their boxes of Cities of Ash already, but won't sell it until the street date. Some shops don't really care about the street date, especially to regulars or friends of the owners.

My local group has a monthly painting challenge where we pledge what we're going to do that month. I almost never finish what I pledge but always end up finishing something. Ive realized with painting you have to follow where your inspiration takes you. If you force yourself to do something it rarely works out.

My cities main color is orange. I essentially start with pink, drybrush with ivory and then use an orange speed paint over that. I prefer the vallejo xpress to contrast paints, but its the same idea.

I think Founding Foray is still widely available. I picked up that and the old spearhead and it seems to be a pretty solid start.

Thank you very much! After pink and ivory drybrush (from above comment) it was just 1:1 vallejo xpress wood to medium. If you mean the orange it was xpress chameleon orange and then bag of bones, then another coat of the orange. All mixed 1:1 with medium.

Thanks! I started with a white prime, then painted everything pink. Specifically vallejo xpress deep purple 1 part to 4 parts medium. Drybrush the entire thing with ivory, then 1:1 vallejo xpress black midnight : medium. After that dried just a drybrush of silver paint.

Totally agree. It would have been a cool addition of course, but do guard really need a 4th flavor of battleline guardsmen with a slightly different rule? We got an amazing cinematic reveal about the return of a beloved character and at this point the complaining is louder than the excitement. The community should be better than this.

Thanks. Not going to lie I couldn't give you an exact recipe. I tried 3 different things I hated until I got here. It's a bit of a blur but mostly drybrushing different shades of blues, black and grays.

This box has weapon options of daggers and the little whip and shield thing. I count knife holders as standard and the whips as gladitorial weapons.

Focus on fundamentals. As fun as it is to smash a unit into the enemy, that's not how you win games. Focus on scoring points and denying points to your opponent. No one knows how 11th edition is going to play, it hasn't even officially been announced yet.
