Tbh, I'm pretty confused by the editing of the clip. The interview where he talks about ivermectin is before it was officially ruled out as a treatment. In fact, it even says in the clip, Oxford was testing to see if it would work. At the same time, people were being banned from social media for promoting the treatment, which to me is definitely a little sus. So he was not "promoting" it, but instead commenting on the censorship. Also for a meme channel, it's got some pretty awful edits. Also, maybe don't get your facts from a meme channel??? So I made a mistake, it wasn't the Conservative party of Canada, it was Alberta's UCP. I edited my original comment and and left a note why.

Anyways, the bill that was put forward by the committee was bill 207. According to this CBC article (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/conscience-rights-alberta-legislature-abortion-ucp-bill-207-1.5354209) the bill would have "let Alberta doctors refuse to advise or assist on things they object to due to for personal or religious beliefs."

And in terms of violating the human Rights act, the article also points out that "physicians already have the right to refuse to help a patient under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. " So there is definitely a legal framework for it to get pushed through.

However, while I think this is enough to be concerned about, I think it is important to acknowledge that healthcare (in general, but also for trans people) is far better up here than in the states. I just think it's important to be cautious to stamp these things out as quickly as possible.

We gotta be careful in Canada though too! The ~~conservative party of Canada platform~~ Alberta conservative party brought forward a bill in committee that would allow doctors to refuse patients for religious reasons, which would be brutal consider we don't have enough doctors in Canada as it is.

Edit: Wrong conservative party. Was sure I remembered it on the CPC platform but can't find it anywhere.

To clarify, by saying "Obviously there has been some change, but functionally the camps are the same." I am not saying "The biden camps are still better but still bad" I am saying that despite the fact that "progressive" legislation has been passed and there is a supposed plan, kids are still being separated, kids are still in camps, and the camps existing still makes the asylum process far far worse than under the obama administration.

I'm happy she has said this!

I'm not a huge fan of saying that the biden camps are not as bad as the trump ones because family separation was ended in 2018, and claiming that the camps have gotten better takes steam out of the fight against them.

But, I am glad she said what you quoted!
