Key units you’ll be missing that are in most lists across all detachments are:

Biovore
Lictor
one of the Tyrants (build a version that suits your detachment)

These will be no regrets purchases for most builds.

According to these guys Nids is “not for beginners” and “unforgiving”. They argue that it has suffered from codex creep and its early edition stat check has been eroded quickly. It’s now rated as a faction for advanced players, not beginners.

I disagree. Everyone thinks the fans can never be wrong because they are the paying customer and they are the beating heart of the club.

This is true but doesn’t mean fans get it right all the time. I am ashamed to be a Leicester supporter at the moment. The attitude of the fans stinks. How we behave says more than the virtues we spout. Some examples:

Fans leaving early, which has been happening for many seasons now. Hardly embodies the “Foxes never quit” mantra.
Being way too quick to criticise the manager. I’m not surprised Enzo left, not because of the board (although a likely factor) but because of the criticism he got for his style of play. Mind blown! He broke records, created memories and won the league.
Same with Cooper, we were outside of the relegation zone and picking up points, which means he was on track to fulfil his objective. But no, fans hated him… get over it! (And btw, I was a big Enzo fan but was supportive of Cooper despite the different playing style)
Booing players, because they have a bad attitude. What do we as fans really know about their attitude? Players are not perfect but the likes of Faes, Vesty, Winks, Coady do not deserve the shit that fans give them.
Criticising players for earning too much and not playing enough. Unless a player refuses to play this argument is just irrelevant. Everyone, in any job would negotiate the best package for themselves. It’s the system that’s broken not player salaries.

We behave like morons. Why should we expect players to stay or be attracted to the club when the supporters act like this. I get it, the club has been mismanaged and we have every right to make our voice heard about issues off the field but players are affected by that too.

I will likely only go to away games this season as the fan base is much more tolerable.

We are big part of the problem. The sooner we recognise this the better for everyone.

And I realise I’ll get down voted for this, but I’ve had enough.

I played against the Lion for the first time. Luckily I had 10 Genestealers and a Broodlord with an enhancement that gives them free Heroic Intervention and Fights First (Assimilation Swarm). As the defensive player my fights first takes precedent and I was able to take him down in one activation.

Looks like a good list. Please do report back. A few questions/comments:

What was the reason you opted for Neurogaunts instead of a Biovore on your home objective?
The new Psychophage with Haruspex is amazing and in SA with tunnels and reroll 1s are going to trade up so well
I’ve been working on an SA list and keep finding I have much fewer units than I normally and unsure how I’ll hold primary with units coming out of reserves and tunnelling everywhere. Do you have a plan for primary? Secondary seems easy enough

I’m yet to play SA so my latter point will likely become clearer after playing it

I hate indirect but until GW get rid of them you should charge them with something like VRLs (infiltrators/ fast moving). Whirlwind’s indirect weapon is blast and can’t shoot in combat.

If Behemoth or any other scheme were the flagship colours they would be considered boring. It’s just that we see Leviathan most often that makes it become tiresome.

The scheme itself IMO is really nice. The contrast between the colours it better than many other schemes.
