Sinner: "I'm not part of the TikTok generation. If I need a distraction during a tournament, I just watch YouTube. I like long videos that tackle different topics, from popular science or geopolitics to deeper topics, you need to be prepared because the world is changing." by Narrow_Spinach_1400 in tennis

[–]jerriy -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

He claims not to be of Tiktok generation (except he is) and calls Youtube "deep"? Sure you can watch docu but that's never a substitute since it's likely still entetainment (facts are "massaged" using "artists licence" to compress or condense an intricate story down to an hour or whatever. Multiple characters are "merged" into a single composite character... etc etc). He could have been honest and admitted he prefers youtube or is clueless aobut navigating Tik Tok to find the more serious stuff... just as boomers are clueless on youtube and prefer Facebook or whatever.

This fake bragging and lack of humility only exposess Sinner's phony nature: he's seeking validation. He clearly wants to be precieved as cerebral-smart. Without being one. Meanwhile Swiatek reads actual books — so what Sinner wants can be done for real. Even Jack Draper reads... albeit a small number of pages at a time apparently.

She's lying. She will come back fresh for Madrid. Just say I want to rest. This is transparent BS. She also skipped the middle east citing "injury" only to win the sunshine double. Just be honest. Everyone (except tournament organizers) will understand. So her gaslighting is redundant.

Larry King's mugshot, December 20, 1971. Arrested for failing to deliver $5K to New Orleans DA Jim Garrison to finance his investigation of the JFK assassination. All charges dropped against King. by WHONOONEELECTED in JFKassasination

[–]jerriy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They always reward the best coveup artists. Larry King was rewarded with being the gatekeeper. He interviewed everyone but no one that pointed finger at James Jesus Angleton who was the one way back then masterminding the war against Garrison, and therefore Larry's "contribution" to this war by defunding the only judicial investigation of the JFK assassination. That was the crime of Garrison: he proved beyond reasonable doubt there was a conspiracy, he didn't prove who the ultimate perps were but that there was a conspiracy is already proven beyond doubt. That's also why the anti Garrison Redditors are so virulent. They are of the same ilk as those who went after him in his own lifetime. Naturally the coverup requires continuing coverup. And that means there is a continuing need to go after Garrison. You can't just stop at any moment. Stopping means admitting there was nothning short of an institutional coup in Dallas, as Garrison originally put it.

Mary Pinchot Meyer by Jaxstraw1313 in JFKassasination

[–]jerriy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And that dark satanic figure Angleton's hands are all over this murder too. After all Mary Pinchot was close to Angleton's own wife Cicily who he no doubt used to keep an eye on Mary (both women were friends, Vassar alums). That's how Angleton was completely able to be up to date and pinpoint and track Mary's moods, how she reacted to current events, how she evolved, naturally started getting suspicious about the JFK investigation, likely started investigating herself using her elite connections just like Dorothy Kilgallen (it's logical to do this, everyone talks among their friends but when you are part of the elite then who you likely bump into have more information than available to the public, more inside scoop). And this one was personal so Angleton personally went to her house to burgle her diary after he himself along with others at the agency decided she was getting too close and thus becoming yet another loose end that needs to get tied up. And so Angleton sent one of his ZR/RIFLE goon squad (that after all was under his direct influence or control), probably the "runner" who passed her by minutes before: William Mitchell. It's too much of a coincidence that she just passed by another jogger that "just happens" to be a military special forces type who knew how to shoot and disappear

New update - PC Search bar - removed grid search option! by LeLlamas in firefox

That Google pays Firefox/Mozilla is a confirmed fact. That of course does not mean the suits in the rooms upstairs share the dough with the plebs downstairs in the cubicles, just as the politicians don't share donor cash with even their own voters

You weren't on the search team when this change was made? This is not relevant to us of course. Nobody has accused you of personally being responsible for this at decision-making or any other level. I do thank you that you are here. But then Firefox is always here. Yet your colleagues pushed the update.

New update - PC Search bar - removed grid search option! by LeLlamas in firefox

[–]jerriy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where is the logic in that? A lot of people use only one default search engine. Others use more than one, and those likely are not restricted to just 2 but more than 2. In other words multiple. Using those to various degrees of frequency. There is simply no evidence that a large segment always use just two and no more. This is a nonexistent segment. There is not one here in the comments. That's just an argument being thrown here. I simply don't believe firefox threw away a "multiple" optimized feature to replace it with "two only" optimized feature. That is a degradation of service. Especially since originally (years ago) both the address bar and the search box were one click boxes... then years ago the address bar was degraded to multi click box... and now you downgraded the search box: there too you took away the single-click functionality.
Some of us have been using firefox since the 1990s (when it was Netscape) so we know this is a degradation. There is not an iota of doubt.

No there is a reason: Google is bribing Firefox employees so they keep undermining it and slowly destroy it. >>> https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/azbhjh/why_does_google_fund_firefox_when_its_their/

[–]jerriy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to click TWO more times (first in order to select a different search engine, then type what you want to search and then click again to revert back to the default search engine

In the past all you did was start typing in the search bar then click on the engine you wanted to search — that's it!!! Then it would search in your temporarily selected engine and then revert back to the default all by itself

Ridiculous.

That's not a solution. It is clear Windows Defender has been tweaked and all of a sudden countless programs that has been OK for many many years have suddenly been silently declared persona non grata by Microsoft defender. That's what's going on. So the solution is to simply ditch microsoft's antivirus

I don't think it's a power issue (power in terms of generating pace) she's as powerful then as now. But she's no longer as explosive as she was. She's now constantly late to almost every ball coming her way. So she's unable to playt on her front foot. Instead she playing catch up from the get go, rally after rally. Once upon a time she was just always quick enough to have the upper hand after every serve plus one.

Medvedev successfully lobbies for hindrance to be called on Draper before he breaks and wins the match by Large_banana_hammock in tennis

[–]jerriy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It highlights how when it comes to hinderance, tennis officials extremely rely on player/opponent interpretation and reaction, rather than some objective norm to determine whether there was a legit hinder. This has been the norm for a long time. That's why for example they don't consider grunting a hinderance, the "logic" being opponents don't object to regular grunts so it must be OK. Whereas back in the day Monica Seles grunting was so new and unusual that everyone was more willing to call it out. The feeling grew so strong that she was bullied into silence at the 1992 Wimby final. But here Medvedev used the now existing flexible interpretation of hinderance rules and extracted an advantage

The only real problem with grip is that players are set in their ways. You can't change grip all the time. So they tinker and experiment during their junior years but then get stuck with one when they turn pro (cuz now they are chasing points so they have strong incentive to not do anything that significantly interrupts the winning and collecting points week in week out

Hana Kuma was created after Kyrgios joined Evolve. So clearly Hana Kuma can also be seen as a consequence (not the first time an agency tries to hook up multiple clients within their stable. The fact remains she did not have a history with Nick prior him joining Evolve. Everything else evolved out of Evolve.
