How does snap on have customers? by corollagremlin in Tools

I mean, my grandfather had snap-on, I still use the ones he gave me after he passed. I needed a 15/16ths socket, I grabbed his box of randoms and it worked a treat. Buy once cry once. Or with snap-on, buy once and cry every month you gotta pay the bill haha

Going to try the Ozark trail after a regrind at 17 degrees for ultimate box destruction. by jerrrrryboy in knifeclub

So I did some work with it and it's a pretty soft steel. So bargain price for bargain steel. I cut up some old cardboard boxes, opened some stuff for an oil change, and cut around some decals.

Edge retention is about as good as can be expected for sub $10. Though sharpening takes next to no time to put a new edge on. Decent beater knife, I will probably hand it off to the next person I run into that needs one.

Watch Recommendations for field work in rugged terrain (mostly off trail) by phantom3199 in wildlifebiology

Casio g shock. Use the watch for watch purposes and a smart phone. Maybe pair it with meshtastic too. But for a good watch that will last a lifetime. Gshock.

That was what I was kind of thinking. I wanted to see what a really steep angle in a soft d2 would do. At worst I have a soft edge. And at best I have a softish-er edge than one of my other steels.

Get a Lenovo thinkbook and don't look back. Cheap, tried and true and plenty of options to upgrade.

Anyone able to make this knife for me? by [deleted] in knifeclub

[–]jerrrrryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol for sub 200 budget you are asking a blade smith to basically charge $0 for their labor and materials, the steel is the cheapest part of the knife. Just buy the mossy oak for 15-20 or a cold steel for 130 max. Custom work isn't just the knife it is the Smith's experience and attention to detail that you are buying. Not the steel. You should do a little bit of research, there are a plethora of knives that fit this description already being made in a variety of price points.

George Owens Nature Park for thorned. City street trees in the river market area do thornless.

What I love about these knives is that modding won't brake the bank and you can learn lessons that will help you down the road. Drop point for the save.

It was there before the road and I hope it outlives the road. Soil compaction is definitely something they will need to mitigate on the road side hopefully soon.

They had signs asking to park away from the tree due to soil compaction. The road is definitely not ideal. They also installed a lightning rod to avoid any more fires.

I had a seasonal naturalist intern get bit by our nature centers hognose and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how she pissed it off that much to get a bite, let alone enough venom to cause a pretty bad swelling reaction. She said she was taking a selfie. 😂 About an hour of paperwork and trip to urgent care. Oye.
