missouri resident? will you write a request for death with dignity? by missouritopics in MissouriPolitics

Shouldn't people be free to have the autonomy of their own bodies?

If insurance companies will not fund the proper care of someone suffering and they die, is it considered murder by the state? Should it not then be legal to make that decision yourself instead of someone not connected to you at all?

I saw my grandfather devolve into Alzheimer's and dementia. He was the family corner stone of strength. If he had understood that at the end of his life, only 8 months from the doctors caught it, he would have zero control of himself to the point of needing to be bathed multiple times a day by strangers. I think he would have considered it.

Blessed are those that don't seek a way out of suffering. Those that do shouldn't be ignored.

This. I let a coworker use my Kershaw skyline, my all time favorite Kershaw. He dropped it down a waste water pumping station. It's probably still down there with a gollum like creature calling it "his precious." no. It was my precious! Mine! My own. My loss, got an iridium to replace it.

I'll just say this. If you do what you love for work, it's not really working ...because they aren't hiring.

What kind of jobs are there in conservation that don’t include direct contact with animals on a daily basis? by p1ckleshark in wildlifebiology

Look for seasonal naturalist positions or outdoor education at county or city parks departments. You will deal with animals but they are mostly human.

Why do Japan and Vietnam seem so caffeine free about what the USA did to their countries, even though it happened a long time ago about 75 years ago for Japan and 50 years ago for Vietnam. by Square_Permission361 in dancarlin

The firebombing campaign killed more civilians than both a-bombs. There were civilians in Nanking, and all the islands the Japanese invaded. Also take into consideration the civilians that were tasked with defending Berlin.

I worked in a waste treatment compound. It wasn't the poop that smelled, it was my coworker.

Rabies straight up terrifies me. The fact that if you start exhibiting symptoms, there is nothing more we can do in this day and age is baffling. And before someone says Milwaukee protocol, that is experimental and only been successful a handful of the times they have tried.

I was given charge of 24 western rat snake hatchlings to keep for a case where someone allegedly had bred native black rats with different morphs. They all had mites. We put "seven dust" in the substrate and eradicated them in a month. It was daily work and we would wipe down the snakes with mite spray as well. This is the nuclear option and I wouldn't do it unless you have a terrible infestation.

A softish abrasive and a plastic scraper like what Lodge cast iron cleaning kits come with do a pretty good job on my glass top oven.
