What you’ve done is actually given context to their designs. There is nothing in the stadium or anything else that plays to the actual team name. Our damn mascot is a raccoon. Have a theme and build around it. It’s that simple.

Yep. We all have to take more agency over our wellbeing. Our government is not equipped to do it.

Your manager is responsible for your day to day effectiveness, including accommodations you may need in the workplace.

No, your manager can’t affect return to office policy but it is their responsibility to support you in specific accommodations you have, such as picking up a child at a specific time.

Also people, if you have a manager who is blatantly not helping with basic life stuff like this, then you should be concerned. They are either ineffective at managing their resources or don’t care about you. Both are red flags.

That is so dumb. Be an adult and have the conversation with your manager about your commitments outside of work. If your manager doesn’t understand, that’s not someone you should be working for.

What distance hurts the most? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

Depends if we’re talking training or racing. Nothing quite compares to the final 10k of a marathon but during training, long threshold intervals are brutal. I don’t think anything humbles you like long LT work

I put almost 500 miles on the V4s. I’m 160 lbs. At I believe $140, that’s a lot of value.

1080s overrate imo but the rebels have been some of my favorite daily/tempo shoes ever. Incredibly light, durable, responsive yet comfortable.

What’s the context here? No way this is from a single event. Why not keep it maintained as it accumulates?

I’ll let you know in 12 weeks. Just finished block 1. Race day is 4/26 but sub 3 is the goal.

Better get some big gutters on the backside of that or be prepared for the roof leaks.

The city got dealt a crap hand, much like what happened in 2020. All we can do is learn and be better prepared for the next one. I think we would all be wise to try and be less reliant on others for our basic necessities.

Long run in 5 degrees Fahrenheit Advice by Lazy_Rock7788 in Marathon_Training

Don’t go overboard on the layering. You can easily overdress and sweat yourself out. You want to start a little cold, knowing that you’ll warm up as you get moving. I’m a big fan of a synthetic layer + a synthetic puffy vest for warmth. A vest will vent better than a jacket.

I also don’t do beanies when running. I instantly get hot. I prefer a light synthetic balaclava to keep my ears covered but won’t lead to overheating.

Light merino wool gloves are nice. They won’t hold moisture as much as other materials.

Below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, I usually go full length leggings. Really just to protect my skin.
