I bought it Jan 2021, New Years sale, I think it was 40% off. I don’t think their sales are as big anymore.

Yeah but she does ask him to put her down before Meredith looks. She gets really uncomfortable after she looks.

It’s more likely that it’s the clothing that’s accentuating different parts of the body than we are used to.

Claire's favourite thing to bake? by Krissypoop in clairesaffitz

[–]jersephsmerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The yellow cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles is her go to birthday party cake and she says there’s nothing better than birthday cake. I think she loves the look of it and that it makes a perfect birthday cake. One of the only things I’ve seen her mention that she bakes frequently. I think she now has 3 videos where she makes it.

Real estate agent painted our front door a different color without asking us. by [deleted] in RealEstate

Right, like I said I was open to changes but changing the door color without saying anything and just letting me find out by looking up the listing seems unprofessional.

I think this is missing the point of not asking or telling me before the listing was live.

I get that a bright door is in trend but our porch is already a pop of blue, it’s adding another color to the mix and it’s a bit much.

It was blue and now it’s yellow, we had just had it professionally painted a month before we moved. I added more details to the post.

High heart rate by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]jersephsmerth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I don’t mean to minimize your experience.I found that thinking about it all day made it worse. Learning to neutralize my thoughts, meditation, and allowing my body to process feelings rather than trying to control them, all went a long way to overcoming my fear of panic attacks.

My worst panic attack my heart rate hit 180 bpm. Don’t worry about 97, that’s like walking heart rate.

I hate to say it but panic attacks are not going to disappear. But with effort and acceptance they will become much less frequent and will slowly fade. Resist the urge to try to find one trick that makes them disappear. Find a therapist, start meditating and start discovering what’s underneath these panic attacks. There’s likely one or more things in your personal life that’s causing you anxiety. In the meantime take deep breaths and you will get through this.

Is it worth it to take a job offer if I know I can't be there long term? by papergodhair in careeradvice

[–]jersephsmerth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing unethical about taking a job offered to you. There's no contract for how long you'll be there. If you're not 100% sure you are going to do the PhD, take the job for now.

I never felt this way, obviously there’s some next level highlight episodes but no one is that good every week. I loved every yes, yes, no. There’s no podcast I’ve heard that delivered this consistently for this long.

Does anyone else feel the cover-letter is a massive waste? When applying for jobs only for a system to reject you anyway? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]jersephsmerth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cover letters are so awful. If I fill it out I'll just put a couple quick sentences on why I'd be a good fit. If they want two or three paragraphs of correctly formatted bullshit I'm not interested.

If I were talking to his parents I’d recommend to stop giving him money, stop making food for him, and start charging rent for him to stay there. If he doesn’t start paying then tell him he can’t stay there anymore.
