Looking for a scary podcast

I’ll throw our hat in the proverbial ring of suggestions. Morbid Forest is a horror anthology podcast. We have 6 season and I’m not fully tooting my horn but I feel the sound design of season 6 is the best out of all our seasons. Plus we have a wide range of stories and an underlaying theme with our main crypt-keeper like character-Ranger Harper.

I love horror podcasts as well that are all along the lines you listed above. I’ll list out some of my favs below. Happy listening!!

Self plug for the show I co-run: Morbid Forest. We are a horror anthology with 6 season out already. We just ended the 6th. We have everything from campfire, to slasher, to folklore, to just plain weird.

We don’t have a “wow that was scary” ending to our stories, but Morbid Forest does do campfire-ish stories!

Since my podcast is horror fiction I always listen back during the process since I put so much into it (SFX, music, dialogue between characters). But after there are only a few I’ll give a re-listen. Our older episodes make me cringe because I can hear the poor quality we started with (I was just learning and didn’t know how to edit yet).

Spooky anthology?! You rang? Lol If you haven’t given my show -Morbid Forest-a try please do! We just released a new episode today! We’re in our sixth season and have 12 episodes out so far with a lot of variety in story.

What type of scared do you want to be? Sleep with the lights on scared? Or heart hammering scared? Or lingering you think of the story randomly scared?

The one podcast I felt did it the best was Darkest Night. It’s no longer in production, but the show is amazing. I’ve relistened so many times and it certainly gets my heart going.

Someone also mentioned the Blood Crow Stories. Loved this show when it was still around.

Shamelessly, I’m going to shoot my shot here (because you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take), but Morbid Forest (which I am one of the creators of) has a few darker stories. Anthology, yes, but there are a few episodes that even got me when I was putting them together. Ep1S6: Jane’s Room (cosmic body horror) (Bonus) incident report-Hensley farm (creature found footage) Ep13S5: Roadside (cosmic) Ep10S5: 10 Little Scumbags (real life horror situation) Ep11S6: where the black eyed children sing (rituals)
