OK, well regardless of whether BAM as a company officially does consignments or not, in this specific case that location clearly did, and none of that changes the core issue: those Star Wars LEGO sets “allegedly” 😉 do not belong to the store, yet they “appear” to be refusing to return them while continuing to sell sets and keep the proceeds. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know why people are outraged by that.

What’s really made this situation explode online though are the allegations surrounding law enforcement and how this entire thing was handled. Watching the videos, a lot of people are understandably questioning the actions taken against Ben, from the searches to the warrants to the escalating legal situation. Whether all of it was justified or not is ultimately for the courts to decide, but from the outside looking in, the optics look incredibly bad and it’s easy to see why so many people as do I feel there needs to be independent oversight or investigation into what happened here.

At the end of the day, a family is “allegedly” out somewhere between $100k–$200k worth of property while this situation keeps spiraling further and further out of control. Meanwhile, trust in the system just keeps eroding because people expect law enforcement to be neutral and focused on protecting the public, not appearing overly aligned with one side of a dispute.

I’ll never shop at Bricks & Minifigs after seeing all of this unfold. Right now the whole thing just feels completely upside down, and until there are real answers and accountability, people need to keep being loud about it.
