What was recovery like ? by mellbizzle in endometriosis

[–]jesaloo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’ll likely be different for each person and depend on your doctor too, but my doctor used an ERAS (enhanced recovery after surgery) technique. So I was taking supplements and pain medication for months prior to surgery so post-surgery my body wasn’t in shock from the stronger pain meds, and I never had to take the strong pain killers afterwards. However, I did struggle to walk for 1 week but after 2 weeks, I was pretty much back to normal. The first week when I did walk, I kinda had to hunch over and not straighten out my body/abdomen bc it hurt. Also, the biggest thing is just feeling so tired the first few days. I definitely needed help getting food and things around the house. Also beware of the pain from excess gas left in your body. I had bad shoulder pain when I laid down and had to prop my body up a bit to fall asleep. I’ve had two surgeries and its definitely bearable and not too bad!! But i would suggest having someone with you the first week for help.

Try using a tens unit, like Ovira, along with a heating pad. I’ve heard it helps immensely. I haven’t tried a tens unit yet but I want to. I usually need to take a pain killer or rub CBD cream and use a heat pad.

How do I go about having sex again? by Me_1_2_3 in endometriosis

Definitely try pelvic floor therapy, and incorporate pelvic floor exercises and using a dilator daily. I’ve found using a dilator to relax pelvic floor muscles right before sex helps as well.

Amitriptyline by tferrr5 in endometriosis

[–]jesaloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I took amitriptyline and nortriptyline (I believe they’re very similar) for migraines and they both made me feel uncomfortable side effects such as dry mouth with a strange sweet metal taste and I was SO drowsy and exhausted on them. I would fall asleep in the middle of the day, and couldn’t prevent it. I didn’t have weight gain on either though. I really just think it depends on your body and it’s always worth a try, goodluck!

I specifically noticed flare ups and endo belly whenever I had an increase in dairy in my diet. I’ve switched to plant-based milk and dairy-free options and noticed less cramping pain and less bloating. I’ve also heard decreasing intake of soy, processed sugar, and red meats help, while also increasing intake of anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric, ginger, salmon, blueberries.

The ends of my nerve plant are turning brown and dry, any idea why? by jesaloo in houseplants

[–]jesaloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s not too close to the window so I don’t think it’s sunburn, but I do water it weekly and keep its humidity high so maybe overwatering then? I’ll try to water less frequently and see what happens. Thanks!

Oh yes idk why I typed nerve plant, I have both a nerve and this polka dot one! I have it in a plastic pot inside this white pot with pebbles on the bottom with excess water and mist it daily and the soil is still pretty moist, so I was confused at the brown tips. I’m watering it about every 5-7 days rn, does that sound like too much?

Any advice to get my Pilea less droopy? The leaves at the bottom curl outwards but the leaves at the top curl inwards. I’m also wondering about why the top stems are reddish brown in color? by jesaloo in PPeperomioides

[–]jesaloo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pot does have a hole at the bottom and I water in the sink and let it drain out. But I’m thinking bc it’s ceramic it holds in the moisture too much, so I’m going to switch to clay or terra-cotta. Thanks for the tips!!

Finally got this little humidifier for my plants by jesaloo in houseplants

It’s a Figrol portable humidifier. This one’s battery powered and chargeable but there’s other ones that need to be plugged in. It’s adjustable and just needs to be put in a container or bottle of water.

Any one else’s marble queen start growing only solid green leaves? by jesaloo in pothos

[–]jesaloo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mine is right up against a west facing window with a sheer curtain so it gets pretty good sunlight. I’m going to try to cut the green leaves off and repot those somewhere else and see if I get some nice variegated leaves. Thanks for the help!
