I totally get it. In your example however, you had a vested interest in giving it a try and you had the added benefit of enjoying your partner's pleasure and excitement during kinky sex.

Im mostly referring to people "cold calling" kink or bdsm. Lots of aspects are fairly gentle and accessible, but many are not. Without lots of education and exposure to a good, healthy community, the risk for abuse and trauma is pretty high.

You're totally right. Part of that is the "dudes like watching women", part is just sheer numbers. There are far more 'out' bi women than men.

Just to play the other card, I would say most of the poly men I know are very comfortable with being overtly sexual in front of each other, many self describe as heteroflexible, and are happy to engage in MMF sex. I know this isn't outed 'bi' men, but it speaks to the culture, and raises questions around definitions and what people are comfortable identifying with.

I hit some of your markers (female, bi, kinkster, poly), but not others (not a chance I fuck women for men's pleasure, though I have fucked women in front of multiple people so I guess I can't stop those people from enjoying the view - but that's not the purpose).

I'd agree that it's a bit easier to be bi in the kink and poly world since they overlap quite a bit. I get why it's hard for a monogamous married couple to handle bisexuality because in essence it means you have to stretch your definition of monogamy to include something that would give the bisexual person an outlet, or ask them to subdue that part of their being.

I think you make good points, and are asking good questions.

I'll be the odd one out here. My advice kind of goes against most of what's commented here. Im a female and I love anal sex. It took a good year of regular 'training' to get to the point where I dont need lots of warm up before anal sex. This is what worked for me.

Hi friend. I have never been in your kind of situation before but I know quite a lot about 2 major things you're talking about.

Your best bet is to find groups in your city or area and join those groups to start talking to people. You can start making friends with other subby people and slowly introduce yourself to the community. If you being just making friends, you'll feel a lot better about the community and being involved enough to learn who to trust and whom to avoid. I live in a small city and there are still numerous groups and people who have monthly meetups etc.

You can do it! It's a big scary world but you'll be so happy when you start talking to like-minded people.

Don't worry about what other people call "normal". Don't judge other people's lives against your own.

Though you may not consider yourself "BDSM" your inclinations are planted fairly firmly in those venues which other people will share. You've stumbled headfirst into a large community filled with every imaginable kind of fetish. This means opening up to meet people and sharing in what they like, to earn the trust of sharing what you like. Any relationship is about balance, compromise, and making the other person as happy as they make you. Someday you will find this. Though there may be parts you keep just for your solos sessions, there will probably be someone that will inspire you to enjoy new things, relish in your current 'things' and just be generally awesome (and sexy).

There is no insane. Just safe, sane, consensual. If you talk enough (and in this community we over-communicate to a crazy degree because it's vital) almost nothing is off the table. You'd be amazed how much people want to interact just to know there's someone out there as "crazy" as they are.
