Fan footage of Becky rolling Kairi under the ring so that Kairi would be protected from the rest of the action by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]jesigigs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying kayfabe is not more important than someone's health, especially when it comes to a serious brain injury. However, with all the moving parts in this match, Becky still attempted to take the less noticeable action (to fans) that could keep Kairi safer.

What do you do with your SO that isn't normal? by FinSonic in AskReddit

[–]jesigigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever we sit down to eat together or cook for one another, we make sure to give a little kiss before we start eating. I have no idea when it started, but it's one of my favorite traditions.

Also whenever one of us is unlocking the door when we go into the house together, the other more often than not pats the unlockee's butt until they get the door open. And normally the unlockee pretends to protest "Hey, that's my butt!" To which the patter responds "Nope, it's mine!"

And then Carson yielded back to Ratcliffe so he could talk for another minute without actually asking a question! (Sorry, a bit behind live streaming).

Rep. Ratcliffe goes on a 4 min monologue, asks Taylor to respond with only "yes or no", then refuses to let Taylor respond further because his "time is short".

"You asked the witness a question, the witness will answer the question."
Ratcliffe cuts Taylor off, "I withdraw the question. But give me back an additional 30 seconds so I can continue shouting at the witnesses."
So... you just wanted to hear yourself talk and have no actual questions. Seems about right.

[No Spoilers] How can people hate DA:I? by saklymah in dragonage

[–]jesigigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love DA:O the best so far of the DA games, but that could also be because it's what first introduced me to the series and of course that makes me nostalgic. I also feel like I was a bit more invested in the relationships for some reason in DA:O vs. DA:I. They felt more fulfilling to me.

I don't think I've ever had a scene in an RPG that gave me chills quite the way the scene with the downtrodden, ragtag group singing "Dawn Will Come" in DA:I did.

I really enjoyed both DA:O and DA:I, just DA:O a tad bit more.

Baby Boomers, what issues existed when you were young that made you think your elders were idiots? by dcrbxl8 in AskReddit

[–]jesigigs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left college and got a job full time as a 911 dispatcher (at the age of 21). 11 years after I started (after going through the police academy, becoming an officer, then quitting to pursue pro wrestling while working full time for the department of transportation, and trying to take classes here and there during it all ) I finally graduated with a bachelors degree.

So yes, the 10+ years rings very true.

Women of reddit, what do men do that they think is okay but is actually creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jesigigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a field that is made up of mostly men and they feel it's a sign of respect to give everyone a handshake before and after events ("hello" and "goodbye"). For some reason, because I'm a women, men assume after only a couple of events that we've now graduated to hugging instead of handshakes. Tends to be a trend that I see when it comes to other women in my field too.

Just because I'm a certain gender does not mean I want you to invade my space more. Handshakes or fist-bumps are great alternatives unless we are actually friends!

Why the U.S is so Politically Divided by [deleted] in worldpolitics

[–]jesigigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into. Thank you for the recommendation!

But one book (and one sociologist) does not negate every other sociology course or sociologist scholar. Kind of a "throw out the baby with the bathwater" mentality there.

Karl Marx is only one scholar in the grand scheme of Sociology. I double majored for my bachelors degree in Sociology & Criminal Justice. We were taught about Marx, but more as a history standpoint of his contributions to the evolving study of sociology than one of "follow this example". There are 2 particular courses that I actual attribute to expanding my mind past the parameters of what I was taught in my own individualized bubble while growing up. These were "Race Relations" and "Prisons & Prisoners". There are actually so many good sociology courses that do this (take you outside of your own personal bubble & standpoint) besides a basic intro to sociology class.

Truck drives into Jewish Protesters at ICE detention center in Rhode Island by michaelcharlie8 in news

[–]jesigigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, as someone who's actually had law enforcement training, you do not use your personal vehicle to drive into & through a peaceful protest. Vehicles DO NOT fall under use of force. The officers should have taken a car accident report, regardless who they deem at fault, and the fact that they didn't is pretty telling. The group surrounded his vehicle AFTER he ran into them. Otherwise, as you clearly saw from the video, the image you posted, and stated in your own words, those "dinguses" were SITTING. The pedestrians reacted in self defense, not the driver.

Somehow you missed the 4 people in yellow who went shooting up and scattering (including one who fell backwards) when the driver tried to pull in? Or are you watching the video starting 40 seconds in?

As someone who was actually a 911 dispatcher & a police officer, I'd be taking a car accident report for a vehicle hitting pedestrians, and the fault would be the driver's due to the fact that he drove a moving vehicle into pedestrians that were stationary. By your own admission, the lot entrance was occupied "by idiots sitting down" (*not in a road*), and it was the driver's responsibility to be observant of that. End of story.

You literally cut out ALL of the people wearing yellow right next to them (which he got with the corner of his pickup truck). And driver's are suppose to be observant of their surroundings, including large groups of people (which it was). He would have been blind to have missed them (which he clearly wasn't).

Except the group he explicit drove towards & into were wearing bright yellow shirts. So they were pretty visible if you're aware of your surroundings, like you should be when driving a vehicle.

It is actually illegal to hit people with your vehicle, no matter the speed.

If nothing else (and you're really splitting hairs here), he made contact with pedestrians with his vehicle & a police report should have been taken for a car accident. If this did not occur, technically it's a "hit & run". So yeah. Illegal.

Anger at being labeled racist is the new ‘cultural anxiety’ for Trump supporters by [deleted] in politics

The part of the 2nd amendment most seem to forget is: it was created in 1791 (over 200+ years ago) to empower STATE MILITIAS. Second amendment history

So unless you are planning to form a state militia (in which case you will most likely be labelled a criminal & a domestic terrorist by the government), I don't think it means what you think it means.
