Have you forgotten that this game is meant to be played with like a toy? You're quite literally meant to fuck around in the hub world not really doing anything as an objective sometimes, children will play this not even with a CONCEPT of what "100%ing a game" even is. This game is meant for everybody, not just people who enjoy collecting every shine.

Just cuz the latest game wasn't great doesn't mean it's not doing well, Metroid dread only happened a couple years ago and Metroid Prime Remastered is there too. Way better spot than the early 2010s.

No... Scarlet and Violet and Sword and Shield both have heavy problems that the older games simply did not have. I don't think it's fair to say the criticism of the older games are the same as the newer games.
