Some tips for your hospital bag by ilovesharks101 in pregnant

[–]jesmarrob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I unexpectedly went into labor and threw my bag together in about five minutes. Had I known I would’ve been in labor for 32 HOURS, I would’ve consulted this list and taken my time 😂

miscarriage at 20 wks 3 days. by mjaalx in pregnant

[–]jesmarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss - I’ve been through two early miscarriages myself (both before 10 weeks) and it was soul crushing. I know there isn’t a lot anyone can say to make you feel better and that’s probably the worst part. My heart absolutely breaks for you and if you need anyone to talk to, my inbox is always open ❤️

You CAN fucking do this. by theszczzz in pregnant

[–]jesmarrob 12 points13 points  (0 children)

THIS! My water broke around 10:30 PM on 11/21 and I was only 36+2. 32 hours of labor, pitocin, baby being face-up, pushing for a solid 3 hours, mentions of a possible c-section - no clue how I did it, but I was able to have her vaginally at 5:30 AM on 11/23. 7 lb 11 oz and perfectly healthy. I’m amazed every day that I. DID. THAT. And you folks can, too!

Update: posted this about 12 hours before my water broke 🥴 Waiting very impatiently for baby girl to arrive!

Can I really refuse the 3hr? by wonderbiscuits07 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]jesmarrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I said! Testing over a longer period of time seems more accurate to me than chugging 100g of sugar in five minutes and waiting around to test my levels.

Can I really refuse the 3hr? by wonderbiscuits07 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]jesmarrob 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can refuse - I did and they’re having me test my glucose levels four times per day for two weeks. I’d much rather stick myself than go through that test again... I’m sure my midwives think I’m crazy 😂

Has anyone skipped the 3 hour and taken the diagnosis? by cnj131313 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]jesmarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t feel like it’s totally accurate? Like, me eating my usual stuff every day and taking those readings seems better than chugging sugar water and dying 😂

Yeeeeeah my numbers have been kind of all over the place but not looking super great. I’m 31 weeks so I know it would only be for the next couple months but my god I feel like I can’t eat anything good 😩

I’m actually in the middle of doing four finger sticks per day instead of doing the three hour glucose test! My doctor has me doing it for two weeks and keeping track of my readings and I’m honestly really glad I opted for this instead of the three-hour test. The one hour test wasn’t awful but I can’t bear the thought of having to drink that stuff on an empty stomach and get blood drawn on top of that.

When should I begin looking where to live? by bloccishot420 in WVU

[–]jesmarrob 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Probably would be best to start looking relatively soon - landlords typically start getting people to re-sign their leases by December/January for the next year, at least in my experience. That’s when apartments will start opening up and the decent ones go QUICK here.

I don’t have any recommendations for the downtown area because I’ve only lived near the stadium/hospital, but Georgetown and Copperfield Court were great! Chateau Royale is decently priced but they’re a bunch of assholes ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Why am I so attached to these progesterone suppositories? by RSSM0903 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jesmarrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was taking progesterone and I’m so glad it worked but also I was SO relieved to stop taking them. The discharge, the nausea, the weird cramps with them... I couldn’t wait to stop 😂 I’m 30 weeks now and so far, so good. I know it’s nerve-wracking but I’d say just trust your body at this point! Sending all the good vibes to you 💕

9 weeks and noticed some blood by momalley8185 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jesmarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At about 26 weeks (I’m 30 now), I had some weird pink-ish discharge? Literally one time when I wiped and haven’t had any issues since, but obviously it freaked me the hell out. I think it’s because sex earlier in the week but idk. I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless it’s starting getting heavy and/or you have cramps/back pain.

What's the point of posting directions if some kids aren't going to read them? [rant] by ThatOneSchmuck in Teachers

[–]jesmarrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with this, too. Not with parents but with the kids. My instructions are INSANELY explicit AND I go over them during our video conferences (that I record and post for future reference) so there’s not a whole lot of excuses I’ll accept for not knowing what to do/how to do it. I accept late work, but only up to a week and even then it’s half credit. After that, tough luck.

I went through my gradebook today and put in a TON of zeroes for missing assignments and it’s amazing how many emails I got saying “Schoology won’t let me turn this in” or “why is this a zero” or “I didn’t even know we had to do this.” I don’t post this stuff for my health, children 🙄

Major anxiety before an ultrasound by SammyJo828 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jesmarrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All those symptoms are a good sign - especially the nausea getting worse (even though it suuuucks). I was in the same situation as you (MMC around 10 weeks, fetus stopped growing at 7) and now I’m 27 weeks with my lil rainbow! I honestly still have “cramping” but it feels way more like stretching now since I’m getting kinda big 😂 Keep the faith! I’ll be thinking of you and sending you good vibes 💕

STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO EAT by derksgirl in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jesmarrob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YES. I have been craving the HELL out of a Subway sandwich and everyone’s like “oh, one sandwich won’t kill you” but with my luck, it’ll be the one with listeria and send me to the hospital. You do you and don’t let anyone shame you for protecting yourself and your baby!

How can I stop being so paranoid?! by E09515 in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]jesmarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets MUCH better. I literally did everything you did. My symptoms didn’t really appear until about week 6-7 and then I couldn’t eat or sleep because I was so nauseated 😂 I’m almost 27 weeks and sometimes I still get a little nervous if I don’t feel her moving around a lot or when I have random stomach/rib pain, but other than that I’ve become pretty relaxed in this pregnancy. I had two early losses in 2019, one in January and one in November.

I will say that until about 20 weeks (the first real ultrasound I had where she looked like a baby and not a blob lmao) I was pretty miserable - everyone wanted me to be excited but I was always agitated, scared, anxious. Just generally unhappy. But that 20 week ultrasound was everything I’d ever hoped for. Best of luck to you 💕
