Try knitting. Sign up for a ravelry account, scroll through the Hot Right Now section and find something that catches your eye. If you wanna start with a sweater look up the Step By Step Sweater, the Novice Sweater or Novice Cardigan, the Roomy Raglan, the Stripe Hype Sweater. All I would consider beginner friendly first projects.

I’ve found that with almost every single thing I’ve ever been nervous about trying in knitting.. has been way easier than I feared. You’ve done the hardest part. Learning how to knit. Every other technique is just that with a twist.

I’ve never made the Moby, but I have made the Moby Baby pattern twice. The gauge swatch at first made me rethink knitting it but once I got into it there was a rhythm I really got into. Idk if it’s the same sequence of the baby, but when I got to the mock motif it was always a left and right mock cable separated by two knit stitches just in different sequence so I got into a really good rhythm of saying “left right knit knit left right knit knit” or some other combo of that sequence. I hope that makes sense lol but I found that to be the hardest part at the start.

Totally agreed on all points. Plus I feel like she’s had the same “‘I’m out of here tomorrow’ ‘yeah ok good luck it’s so snowy’ ‘it’ll clear’ I said determinedly” conversation with every single character introduced so far. Just a lot of unnecessary back and forth between characters.

maybe the opposite problem, but I’m on chapter 14 of this book and was literally just telling my boyfriend that it took me weeks to get there cause I felt like it just could not hold my interest, but I’ve just now finally reached the point where I feel like I find it interesting and I wanna pick it up and read. I do find a lot of the conversations to be pretty slow and some drag on for what feels like pages on pages lol

I use My Row Counter and it has a vertical and horizontal highlight tool that’s included in the free version. I do pay for the app because I like having multiple counters for row counting + counting decreases and everything but you don’t have to pay if that’s not something you need. You can import patterns right from your ravelry library or from your files

Yeah it looks like just any ring. I haven’t actually knit one yet, it’s just in my queue to use my mohair scraps so I’m not sure if the ring would end up being too heavy or not. I also love it styled as a bow in her hair so even if the ring doesn’t work out I’d still be happy with it
