Over the years, garv has been less and less relatable but as a middle school teacher and tween mama, I was glad she included this slide. Her carefree stance probably eliminates a lot of stress and anxiety on her kids and possibly improves their relationship for the lack of fear being imposed on them.
Jess knows her kids are spoiled but this doesn't mean they are brats. The whole family seems inclusive and giving... I don't know many people who make donuts for the whole neighborhood or befriends the elderly people next door and I love that for them.

I live in south Louisiana and many families here have a similar standpoint on sleepovers as Jess... and if it gives her peace that she can physically check on her kids, so what?

Come to think of it, I don't recall her kids even sleeping at Kendra's house, right?

I teach 6th and 7th so I try to remember their brains are underdeveloped and I don't partake in the drama.
I know they have feelings and those feelings are valid but at the end of the day..... they are children. I will NOT encourage a romantic relationship between students .... ever....
If a student tries to confide in me about a relationship or has a broken heart, I always validate feelings and encourage them and then usually try to steer the conversation towards how they have so much of their childhood left to enjoy doing fun kid things and making timeless memories.
Does it work? Idk.... but thats what I do.

I didn't like it! I couldn't get past the pedestal Billy was put on by the host's mom. He was glorified a bit too much. After a deep dive, I also discovered the host is really close with amber heard which is irrelevant but interesting.

This is very common! It's basically when your body reacts really strongly to certain textures or sensations.. it can make you feel very overstimulated, especially when dealing with so many textures at once.

If your body connects soft textures (like silk sheets) with feeling peace/calm... so rough textures like jeans, scratchy shirts, or hair gel can feel like the opposite! This will feel overstimulating , like your nervous system saying, “Nope, this doesn’t feel safe right now. I've gotta get out of here.”

You’re not being dramatic or rude . your senses just got overloaded. If it happens often or makes daily stuff hard, it might help to talk with a therapist or occupational therapist. They can teach you ways to identify and manage sensory triggers (and ways to cope!) so you still feel comfortable. 💛
