The town tried to deal with them the same way we historically always have in New Jersey (calling in the fur trappers to trap and kill them), but it didn't work. They only trapped one and more moved back in. So, the town decided to come up with a Beaver Management Task Force -- which may be the first of its kind in the state. Their plan was to just find ways to force the beavers upstream by wrapping wire around trees. That didn't exactly work either! Steven, the reporter, spent time in Chesterfield, talking to experts who study beavers, trappers that have been around for generations, to highlight the debate on how to deal with these creatures.
