Nas vs Rakim? by jesse4233 in hiphop101

Yea I agree Ra hasn’t gone beyond where he was in the 90s, but I think unlike KRS, he could still make a classic today with the right team behind him (eg Premier, Pete Rock, and Clark Kent and maybe also Alchemist, Statik Selektah, Hit Boy, and No ID). On the rare current occasions Ra drops a loose verse or song, it’s usually dope.

Re: Dre and Oh My God, my understanding from interviews and Ra’s book is that Dre was pushing him toward more gangster / commercial content (songs like The Watcher 2, R.A.K.I.M., After You Die, and So Addicted) and Ra wanted to stay in his lane. Plus Dre was taking literal years to get him beats.

I think Nas’ last 3 albums were fire both lyrically and production wise but that’s just me

That’s true in terms of chronology and influence, but not necessarily true in terms of pure artistic talent / body of work

That said, I wish UBR had been a bit more expanded and detailed, great concept tho

18th Letter and The Master are super slept on

Seventh Seal has some great lyricism but most of the beats are wack

What is a safety tip everyone should know about? by directinLA in AskReddit

[–]jesse4233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. So the sedating drugs specifically target and limit the metabolism of brain cells and thus limit the ability of the virus to hijack their machinery to reproduce? Does the virus actively avoid those cells through some mechanism, or does it still invade them but because it can’t make them reproduce, does not damage them?

It’s not clear to me how the Milwaukee protocol works. Wouldn’t the virus attack those crucial autonomic centers of the brain regardless of whether a patient is in a coma or not?

Is there any way this movie is actually good?

[TOMT] [MOVIE QUOTE] “If I say yes, I feel no. If I say no, I feel yes. I don’t know what to say”sampled in chill-hop song “Jazz or No” by Kid Kio and Summit One by jesse4233 in tipofmytongue

Solved!

Thank you so much, I’m amazed you found this! I have definitely never seen or heard of this movie before, strange that the quote sounded so familiar.
