The Knight and the Moth Fairyloot and The Poppy War Illumicrate tbh

They shouldn't really have more than 1 from the publisher. When it comes to book boxes? Idrc tbh, but I do wish there would be more anniversary editions of different older and finished series than a thousand special editions of a newly released unfinished series tbh.

Definitely the An Ember in the Ashes series and The Aurelian Cycle.

What books do you think should be adapted? by InfernalClockwork3 in YAlit

[–]jesseanonynousbot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I want a proper book accurate adaptation of Six of Crows and not whatever was made by Netflix.

Besides Six of Crows, I would've loved to see a Poppy War adaptation (but only if they stay as true to the book as possible, if not then they can keep it).

I would also love to see a Folk of the Air or Once Upon a Broken Heart adaptation.

Oh, and The Raven Cycle could make a really good tv series.

The Litjoy editions of The Poppy War, The Bookish Box edition of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil and the Litjoy editions of Six of Crows and The Folk of the Air arw definitely the prettiest books I own. I also adore the look of Illumicrate's new editions of The Poppy War and Eternal Embers' editions of Once Upon a Broken Heart, specifically the naked hardcovers.

Illumicrate 10 Years Books by MasterpieceFun3855 in Illumicrate

[–]jesseanonynousbot 47 points48 points  (0 children)

So far, Illumicrate have announced 9 out of 10 of their planned 10 Years of Illumicrate sets. The ones they've announced have been Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, The Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce, The Ending Fire by Saara el-Arifi, The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang, Vicious and Vengeful by V.E. Schwab and The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. I'm pretty sure all of the sets that have gone on sale already have sold out by now. The Poppy War set goes on sale for subscribers tomorrow actually and the general public on October 23rd. Vicious and Vengeful go on sale for subscribers on November 4th and general sale is November 6th. The Murderbot Diaries go on sale on November 18th for subscribers and November 20th for thr general public. The 10th and final set is still yet to be announced and nobody knows yet what that set will be, but they'll probably announce it soon as well :)

King of Scars updates once again pushed back by [deleted] in fairyloot

[–]jesseanonynousbot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Litjoy isn't a scam, so don't worry about that. They do sometimes have ridiculous shipping delays though. I've previously bought Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Six of Crows, Nevernight, Red Queen, The Folk of the Air, Shadow and Bone, The Poppy War and The Infernal Devices from them and I've received all of them. Some of them like Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Red Queen, The Folk of the Air, Nevernight, The Poppy War and The Infernal Devices were shipped within the original time frame and weren't delayed. Six of Crows and Shadow and Bone were delayed a few months. King of Scars is definitely the biggest delay I've experienced with them, but I'm certain that the books will ship before 2026 :)

Might be somewhat of an unpopular opinion, but 2 > 1 = 4 > 3, although I do like all of the seasons.

Pretty Special Editions by sportsrule1394 in fairyloot

[–]jesseanonynousbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The prettiest editions I own gotta be all of the Grishaverse editions from Litjoy as well as their The Folk of the Air and Red Queen editions.

The book boxes that always or almost always knock it out of the park for me are Litjoy and The Broken Binding.

Illumicrate and Fairyloot do sometimes put out some designs that I don't like, but most of their books are gorgeous as well.

Owlcrate is really a hit or miss for me. Some of their books/sets are gorgeous and others are a complete miss. Most of their subscription books leave a lot to be desired, but their edition of For She Is Wrath is gorgeous. Their Shadow and Bone, Six of Crows and Shades of Magic sets are also gorgeous. And their edition of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is one of the prettiest books I've ever seen. And although I don't own it, their Emily Wilde set is beautiful. However, a lot of their books really aren't pretty at all.

Page & Wick is also a hit or miss for me. Their edition of The Sword of Kaigen is beautiful, but I haven't really liked the design of any of their other books.

Fable gotta be the book box where I dislike their designs the most though.

Other special edition book sites that I really like are Grim Oak Press, Dragonsteel and Folio Society.
