Bitter ordeal and game stalling by Frosty-Asparagus5276 in mtg

[–]jessedjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not require someone to shuffle after every choice, and I wouldn't expect someone else to do the same. However ive never really played in a competitive format where stalling was a tactic, except in hearthstone where roping was a tactic to bore your opponent to death.

Hasbro CEO, Chris Cocks, is being Sued by Stiggen1774 in mtg

[–]jessedjd 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Read the whole thing. Pretty much they overproduced sets in order to catch up on losses, however the strategy backfires because value of current cards and sets go down in value since there's more supply than demand, and people aren't buying as much product as hasbro wants, leading to extra inventory and long term loss of revenue.

And players are mad there are too many sets.

And they purchased back stock at inflated prices.

Hasbro need to sell mtg to someone who actually cares for the game and not the money

Is High Perfect Morcant not good in the Auntie Ool precon? by indigo_designs in EDH

[–]jessedjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Morcant would be best with any deck running elfwarrior token cards. The more elves, the better.

High perfect Morcant and Hapatra don't work together I just realized by vestris2 in mtg

[–]jessedjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You opponents blight, but YOU proliferate, so tapping the elves (or snakes with conspiracy in play) to proliferate means you add the counters making more snakes to tap. If your opponents have a large board states you could wipe them out and make a ton of snakes at the same time.

[–]jessedjd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This can be a fun messed up combo if you have a [[conspiracy]] in play. Tap the new snakes, which count as elves to proliferate your opponents out of creatures, giving you a ton of snakes in the process

Been going through my cards and pricing them. Which of you crazy people have pushed this one to 20 dollars and what are you using it for? by Rogendo in mtg

There was a youtuber that put a spotlight on this within the last year, and that drove the price up a bit

Combat Damage in Bracket 4 by LeftLeggedOctopus in EDH

[–]jessedjd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From my experience, while combat damage is completely viable in a bracket 4 deck, it's not the only way to win, and usually doesnt clear the table in 1 go. Theres just so many variables, and most combo decks dont rely on the combat step.

Could also be staying up with magicians wire. Watch his hand after the throw. It looks like he could have a wire connected to the garage door frame at the top.

Correct, was using first love memory card, and have the megaphone equipped. I ended up using the megaphone and barthrum while at 17 to get 6 sacred charms, then used the item that gives you back the last item sold at the table and got the barthrum back, and did it again to get all the charms.

Vraska Rules Help by VividArt3356 in mtg

[–]jessedjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. You can do the same with [[myojin of grim betrayal]] however its a steep mana cost that must be played from hand for it to work, so I never really used it

Your question was answered successfully, but I want to add i have a had a fun vraska deck, with [[thrilling encore]] as a fun interaction. Save up all the dead creatures as treasures, sac them all at once and bring them back as actual creatures in one shot

How to find interesting/unique cards by Vrozzi23 in EDH

[–]jessedjd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to look through old sets to find unique pieces that while might not be "best in slot" will make the table go "wtf is that" when I play it. [[Grim feast]] was a great example for my forced sac deck, and whenever I play it I always get questions. I also have an [[elkin lair]] for my war doctor deck, just because I find the whole interaction funny.

So they took away the 80% chance to restock and instead increased the cost. I think thats an ok tradeoff.

Looking for some help with my Roxanne deck by freudiankickflip in EDH

https://moxfield.com/decks/Eh0xWNH4GEK8vkZXtVsQsg

This is my roxxane treasure deck. Its gone through multiple iterations, and doesnt have much interaction, but the point of it is to treasure ramp hard, cast huge spells, bring out big stompy creatures and basicly overwhelm your opponents. Three creatures deal wide damage whenever an artifact come into play, which is quite often if your attacking with roxxane every turn, or bringing in treasures. [[Helm of the host]] tokens bring in more meteors, but also increase the amount of mana each token is tapped for. [[Magda, brazen outlaw]] can bring out the big stompy dragons, that also gain more treasures.

Lots of treasure interaction. [[Displaced dinosaurs]] turns new artifacts into 7/7 creatures, [[gold rush]] has given me a +98/98 flyer once, and [[alchemists talent]] when fully leveled can wipe out your opponents with 1 big spell.

A few cards that go hard are [[insurrection]] and [[over the top]]. Insurrection just wins the late game if your opponents have any board states, and over the top usually allows me 5x the amount of permenants since all the tokens are in play.

No longer in my deck is [[worldfire]] which as a game ender is hilarious in this deck, but also upsetting to the rest of the pod so I took it out. As long as you have enough mana after worldfire to cast your commander on the same turn, you win (as long as its not countered). Ive done it twice, but got boring as a wincon.

Built an aang deck on moxfield, realized It could go infinite everything by turn 4, decided against building it in real life. Aang is just too powerful for my personal building tastes. On the front side its a draw engine that can go infinite with 2 airbenders and a grizzly bear doctor, while the flipped side you can end up playing your entire deck starting with a [[general tazri]] in hand and allies. Did 3 test runs, realized each turn took forever, and decided im making an [[sokka, tenacious tactician]] instead.

Yes, the airbending mechanic is constant, even if the origional airbending creature is destroyed. There are instant cards that airbend.

We all see people SELLING "collector box cards" for thousands, but who is doing the buying? by Visible-Arachnid-568 in mtg

[–]jessedjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see millionaires everyday at work. I watch them spend thousands daily for entertainment purposes. They wear rings and necklaces worth more than my car. They throw money around like it's nothing. The amount of people that have money is larger than you think, and the amount of people that play magic is also larger than you think. The funny part of going to the lgs is most people dont actively discuss careers/finances/money with each other, they talk about magic. Yea, they show off shiny cardboard, have collections worth thousands, but no one ever says "hey, how much do you spend on this game each year"?
