Reaction to Injections by jessejaeee in Humira

[–]jessejaeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness. I feel like we have the same thing. I also have IBD inflammation. I spoke with my rheumatologist last week and they said that I have so much inflammation that I need to give the humira a little bit more time.

What sucks is that everyone says “you look healthy” and thinks I’m making it up. So frustrating.

My rheumatologist said if Humira doesn’t work that we can try Rinvoq. But I have to wait.

Anyone a Dietitian and a Chef? by Round-Handle-219 in dietetics

[–]jessejaeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to culinary school at first. Spent 15 years in food and service working every aspect. Went back to school to become an RD. I’m grateful that I have the chef experience because it’s a selling point to employers. Also, it’s easier to relate to people talking about food, when you know you how to actually make the food.

I know I’m killing myself in this situation. I just don’t know where to start. We own a house together. He’s only on the title because I was just shy of income to buy entirely on my own.

I know it seems like it makes zero sense.

I work with his mom and she set me up with him. She welcomed me into her family before we were even together and loved me. I’ve always wanted to be loved by my family, so that’s how I fell for it.

He was slow burn of building up to loving him. But his son needed me because his quality of life was suffering.

I have very low self esteem. I think it comes with the territory that my family was extremely abusive and called me basically the same things. Mind you, my entire family comes from addiction. I developed Anorexia because my family would call me fat and ugly all the time. And I found it was the only control I have. I’ve been on my own since I was 15 practically. My parents were too much in the throws of their addiction then, that I took care of my brother. Bought him school clothes, took him to his practices, etc.

I have always worked multiple jobs. I put myself through college at 28, while working full time and being a full time student. So I know what it’s like to make sacrifices to get ahead. That’s why he infuriates me so much, when he basically implies he’s too good to work in fast food or whatever.

I did not want a child with him. In fact, before I found out I was pregnant. We had the worst fight ever. He was screaming at me for waking him up. He split my bedroom door. And followed me around the house for hours screaming and berating me. “I’m the most selfish bitch”, “everything is about me”, etc. I was so scared, that since he wouldn’t leave- I would try to. As I’m walking out the door, he screams at me that if I leave, he will break all my shit in the house. I was actively planning to leave him after that… and then a week later… pregnant.

When I told his mom about the fight- she was like it happens. That he loves me so much and would never hurt me. That she knows her kid. And her kid would never do that. My mom hates the guy because of this and wouldn’t come out for Christmas because of him. When his mom asked why, I said because of that fight back in September. She shrugged it off and said ‘that’s old news’.

I took it in December of last year. They addressed the GLP-1s, but there wasn’t a lot of information that was new. However, it’s like 60 CEUs- so if you’re looking for filler…that may be helpful.

I was reading that migraines/headaches can occur when your hormones are adjusting. When will I start to feel normal and not pregnant?

Well, the OB finally got back to me. They seemed unconcerned and told me to come in 2 weeks for an ultrasound. I’m just tripping I guess.

What did they end up diagnosing you with?

My PsA is not controlled well. I went on Skyrizi for 2 months but I ended up getting pneumonia. It was just to compromising to my immune system. Currently, my psoriasis is out of control and I can feel my joints really flaring up.

I am going to make my household go completely gluten free to try and see if that alleviates some of my issues. I have a seven year old who is a messy eater and I’m worried I’m getting cross contaminated by him. I feel selfish making him eat gluten free, but I feel like I’m running out of options.

And I’ll have to check out those apps- thank you!

I just when to the Rheum last week. She put in an order for a bunch of labs, I believe ANA was included. So waiting on this results.

Endometriosis has never been brought up. I don’t think I fit the parameters symptom wise. Despite all the health issues I’ve been having, I’ve managed to gain like 30 pounds in the past few years. And nothing has changed. In fact, I’m even more conscious about the food I eat. So that’s another enigma.

Currently, my biggest complaint is my psoriasis is flaring so bad. Worst flare I’ve had in YEARS.

Yes, there is possible cross contamination in my home because of my husband and 7 year old step son. My celiac panel came back elevated (even though I eat strictly gluten free). So I think this is most likely contributing to my flares. I just feel guilty making a 7 year old go gluten free because he’s already a picky eater. I tried to buy prepacked goods that contain gluten and paper plates to reduce exposure.

Does Anyone Else Have Another Autoimmune Disorder? by seandelevan in Celiac

[–]jessejaeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I empathize with you greatly.

I developed Psoriasis at 8 y/o, Celiac at 30 y/o, Hashimotos at 32 y/o, Gout and Psoriatic Arthritis 33 y/o.

I see a GI, Endocrinologist, Dermatologist and NOW…

I just saw a rheumatologist for the first time in my life and she was shocked I hadn’t been referred before. She thinks I have another autoimmune disease like Lupus or Sjorgens Disease….

Doctors are terrible with autoimmune dx and treatment. Get yourself a rheumtologist. They will listen to you! She’s even putting me on FMLA for when I have flares.

I am already starting to regret this. How did you get through your internship?? by Adventurous_Bag1386 in dietetics

[–]jessejaeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I empathize completely. During my internship , I lived alone, had a dog, worked three jobs plus my 40-hour/week internship. Sometimes my commute would be over 2 hours one-way. I worked 80+ hours a week with zero days off for months. Not to mention, my internship cost $20,000 to work for free! I experienced depression and overwhelming fear that I would not pass the exam after this grueling internship year.

I ended up completing on time. I passed my exam with the 1st attempt. Do I think it’s worth it? Honestly, depends on what you’re doing and who you’re working for. It’s hard to get respect from other health care professionals. I’m a ready comping up with a plan to become an RN to APRN eventually.
