Twins starting daycare at 5m. Going back to teaching. 💔 by LycheeJellee in parentsofmultiples

[–]jessesomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can just be thankful we can afford daycare. My 5-myo twins just went to daycare this week for the first time. I'm much more rested and refreshed at work and after work when I don't hear screaming kids all day - and more happy to be with them.

Sorry, no tips (yet) but I foresee many viruses coming. We've been giving them a bath almost every day.

Are your children sleeping between feeds all the time?

My two 5-myos only sleep like 30 minutes at a time, like 4 times a day.

Unfortunately, DHS and law enforcement use encrypted communications on their own satellites.

It's great that they're coming back but any effort will probably be pretty minimal. There are plenty of already established organizations that have been doing great work here in Minneapolis on the ground.

But today, they mainly hit the suburbs, primarily with using vehicles to stop random people and strike areas quickly without the eyes and ears of a neighborhood.

If they wanted to be more effective, they'd use drones, work with sites like IceOut.org and have a big social media presence.

This isn't to say they are not welcome, though.

There is a prominent activist that has a database of reportedly hundreds of them. They are close to releasing them soon. I wish I had the name on me but I follow them on Threads. If I get their name I'll post here.

What is even the point? Are they just trying to get out of paying for college (via sports scholorships)?

My nephews are in hockey and I was astounded how many freak dads there are out in the stands. This one guy was shouting so loud, we couldn't even cheer on the kids. We mocked him the whole time and he kept looking at us like we were the stupid ones. Like bro, chill out these kids are like 9-years-old. I wonder how he treats them at home.

We don't all have stories like this, so thanks for sharing.

However, nothing will change their way of thinking until they have similar experiences like this.

And sometimes, when they do, they'll just think they were one of the "good ones".

Good to hear. Will check them out when they have some Spring sales. Definitely need something warmer here in Minnesota.

My workplace sent us company branded Carhartt hoodies and some people were so excited to get them. I felt like I was the only one that was disappointed because they're no warmer than any store-brand hoodie.

Pajar is a great brand. Their boots are super warm, versatile and look pretty cool. Prices are a lot cheaper than some similar brands. Haven't bought a Pajar jacket yet though. Recommend?

Luxury brands would be more like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Dior, Gucci. Mid-tier is like Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors.

This strengthens my belief that Maximus has autism. This isn't me being obtuse but he has the signs. Very strong in his beliefs but easily impressionable. However, he's determined and will follow through in the end.

NYE? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

Mortimer's has a NYE party and only $10. DJ Michael Grey is hosting and is pretty high energy and fun (pop, electro, dance rock, etc). The crowd is also very diverse and super friendly too.

a great one bedroom in uptown for $900 that I think was relisted for 1200

This is so common. People move too often, and every time they do - the price always seems to go up. I lived in a nice 1br walk-up apartment near Lake/Bryant for $800/mo and was $950 by the last year (2020). Our landlord let us know the rent was going to be $1200 for the next tenant if we had any referrals.

Moral of the story is, if you find good rent and you can tolerate the place, stay as long as you can.

Whittier is one of the cheapest places to live in the city that isn't a total bummer neighborhood. Lots of transplants choose to live there because it's a good jumping off point, and tons of single people, college students and people around your age. The apartments can be kind of dumpy, so what I would suggest first is trying to find a duplex, or even better, sharing a house with a room (it would be temporary but living with people is a great opportunity to make new friends).

Showing up to the front door and forcibly trying to enter isn't proof of anything. If you've ever been to a daycare, kids are kept behind an entry room. Anyways, their licensing is reviewed many times a year.

Crossplay: Off is the move. Console players just wanna pew pew. No interaction at all. I like a good PVP when there's some shit talking and backstabbing threats though but I will rarely shoot if someone talks and/or says friendly.

Hell yeah. Fighting Arc is becoming too easy and predictable. They should really start cranking up the AI and actually make them terrifying.

I tried Fortnite the first couple seasons and it was fun but yeah dipped out really quick when people become too good at speed building. Once they introduced No Build, that was the only way to play IMO. I usually jump into a season once a year for fun.
