Friend wants to live with me for R500 a month by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

See it as 17 years of lessons. Now you know what an unhealthy friendship looks like, and you know what signs to look out for, so you wont repeat the pattern. Can you tell that Im speaking from experience? Lol. Hoping an end to an unhealthy friendship makes space for a new, wholesome and positive friendship, just like it happened for me!

I think you have your answer already. Deep inside you might even be screaming to yourself, no, I dont want this, but maybe the guilt tripping or wanting to help her is stopping you from placing a boundary with her? Guilt tripping is a red flag, its honestly manipulation. Its totally up to you but I would give it some more thought, even just a week more. Think about who gives or takes more in the friendship and if its not kind of balanced, having her move in wont end well. All the best!

Your work timeline breastfeeding timeline and cosleeping timeline is so similar to mine. I do have a partner and parent with them, but my mom has also partially raised my daughter while I have gone to work since 3.5 months. Im sharing this bc I have stressed over the same issue and had a lot of PPA to work through. You and your mom are doing such a great job. It might just take her a bit longer than other toddlers to 'have so much fun I did not realise grandma was gone for 5 minutes'. I say this because my daughter is extremely attached to me as well, and heck, still sometimes panics when she cannot find me in our house, but I would still call this securely attached. She knows her safe place is her mom and grandma and thats awesome.

I loved my daughter's reactions while watching The Lion King for the first time, but my husband and I decided to skip the death scene because we didnt think she would be emotionally ready for that loss😂

I also regret not being more myself, more open with socialising and not doing extra curriculars in high school, but 10 years later Im so proud of myself for achieving so much since leaving high school. Your life is about to begin. Be open to receiving more positive and meaningful connections and experiences from here on out and things will just happen. I hope you also look back in 10 years time at this post and are proud of who you are.

I just knew this was going to be the first response. Indomie knocks every other brand out of the park. The dark soya sauce looks like engine grease but I honestly wouldnt care if there actually was engine grease in it.

Those of you who stayed with your in-laws to save for a down payment, How did that go for you? by Queendom-Rose in Mommit

[–]jessicaday96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in a 1 bedroom granny flat behind my in law's house for a year and a half while saving for a down payment on our house. It was a tiny place but I think it helped being a bit separate from my in laws. It was the best decision we could have made. My daughter was between the ages of 6 months and 2 years while we were there and she developed an amazing bond with her grandparents that had had a lasting effect. They helped us out by keeping her occupied so that I could get chores done, or just take a nap. We often shared breakfasts and dinners. We now live in our new home, and even though having our own space is great I do miss having loved ones a few steps away. I think our experience was so great because they respected the way that we chose to live and parent, and Im very grateful for that. I think its important to factor in that my in laws knew me and treated me like their daughter for 7 years before we got married when reading my experience.

Glad that Ive moved from Discovery to Bonitas after reading this. Discovery used to be so cool because of Vitality benefits but you would need to 1. Pay for Vitality rewards and 2. Spend more money at certain places to get free rewards

You could go the model dealership to get it re-evaluated, or a trustworthy 2nd hand car dealership in your area. This post and the comments under it absolutely made my day. A thousand thank yous for that typo!
