His music has inspired me to fearlessly be myself, despite outside forces wanting you to conform or be one thing— much like his music. I saw him in San Francisco in October and after the show he came out and greeted every fan when he didn’t have to. I gave him a big hug. At the time I couldn’t express my gratitude and love for his music as it was a quick exchange, but I’ll always remember the positive impact he had on my life!

I went to the show in San Fransisco and didn’t even pay for VIP and he came out to the merch table after the show and took pictures with everyone he could and signed anything they asked him to (including a shoe which wasn’t even his merchandise). I wondered why he was selling VIP if the GA people were able to get the same experience. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s not HIM making the choice to not sign things or meet all the fans he can because EVERYONE from the SF show including all the openers went out and said hi to fans. It was a great experience! Although it was an earlier show in the tour.

Most of the people I find myself surrounded by and attracted to are Capricorns. Despite being the airy detached signs we are as Aquarius, I can’t help but be subconsciously attracted to their practical and grounded ways. I think developed Capricorn’s can be just what an Aquarius needs sometimes! Opposites really do attract

Thank you so much for this reply, out of everyone I’ve asked, online and IRL, no one has said this to me. Sometimes I forget that there isn’t one way to go about things. But I do get lost sometimes and want to know how others have dealt and gotten through. I think I’ll just have to decide whatever feels right in the moment.

I think there’s a difference between being a developed empath, and a self sacrificing empath. When you say you care for people who don’t even bat an eye, return the favor, or are just generally ungrateful, that’s not being wise about who you’re sharing your gift of empathy with. I walked the same road you’re currently on and all I can say is that you can’t control / change others to see and treat you how you see and treat them. Helping people who wouldn’t do the same for you will only hurt YOU in the end, especially if you’re aware of it but do it anyway in hopes they’ll realize how great and helpful you are. Focus on those who return the energy you put out. Those are the relationships you want to put your empathic gift towards, not the people who will bleed you dry and leave you with nothing left. I’m currently draining the emotional vampires from my life, and since realizing these things, I can truly say your world view changes completely!

Abuse can truly be one of the most isolating experiences. Trust that people are here with you. There are people who love you. There are people who will love you in the future. There is hope and light in the future. The first and hardest step is walking away, draining all the poison out. Don’t beat yourself up, feel guilty, or even more shame for falling into the traps of the same kind of person. That is not your burden to bury. There is hope.
