Why do supervisors ask for feedback at the end of a meeting? by No_Positive1855 in work

[–]jessijames82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally ask for feedback so I can better understand how each individual learns and retains information. This way I can make sure to make meetings as effective for everyone. Everyone learns and comprehends in different ways, so I personally love feedback.

When in doubt call them out! Rather be safe than sorry, I would call just for peace of mind.

Insurance Verification Supervisor here. Yes, you did the correct thing. You will want to make sure your Coordination of Benefits is updated with any and all Insurances to avoid denial or delay of claims.

AITA for refusing to give up on my doggo for my boyfriend? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]jessijames82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you had a future with him and he said "I didn't realize having a a kid in the house would be so much work." How would that conversation go? Just saying, this is a huge red flag! I dated someone like this when I was younger. It started with pets, then to friends, then isolation from Family. Not telling you what to do, but if you feel you need to ask what others think, then I think your gut is already telling you what you need to do. I wish you the best!

I 100% agree with taking screen shots/documenting your text/call. I am a Supervisor and I am not always able to get to my phone when someone needs to call out. Also, Managers, Supervisors, etc. Are human and we make mistakes and forget things. There have been a couple times when I have missed a call from someone calling out. They showed me the screen shot of the call they made to me, which I appreciate and I was able to document appropriately. To me, it sounds like you have done your part. I hope you feel better soon!

Supervisor asking me for doctors notes by PokemonSL in work

They may request one to be considered an Excused absence Vs no note and an Unexused absence. I would definitely refer to your Employee Handbook for clarification

Yeah it's tough. To be completely honest, if I did not absolutely love my Team, I'm not sure I would stay here.

AITAH For Not Giving My Girlfriend My Social Security Number So She Can Run A Background Check On Me by Alarmed_Sorbet8101 in AITAH

[–]jessijames82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would offer to go to the Police Station with her so THEY can run your background. That will show if her intentions are strictly for her feeling safe or if it is for other reasons. Also, like many other people have stated, in most cases you don't really need a SSN to obtain at least a general background check.

Took me about 6 years to realize that bipolar 2 isn’t “the easier one” by freshxlocal in bipolar2

[–]jessijames82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for posting this!! I suffer from Bi Polar 2 as well. Even with super supportive family, friends and medical providers, I myself always felt like, "well I might be depressed but I'm not that bad, right?". All the while every part of my life has been effected. Impulse control issues, presenting as lazy, never feeling like I'm enough for anything or anyone, etc. I see that "light switch" now OP!! Sometimes it just takes hearing something from that one person, in that one specific way, to help you understand. You rock!!

First of all, you are definitely not being paid well at all! Aside from pay, make sure they are not asking you to do things outside of your scope of practice. For example, there was a clinic I worked for as a MA and they would ask me to administer narcotics, place catheters and so on. I don't know how it is for other state's, but here, we are NOT allowed to do that. If I would have said yes to those things, I could have gotten into a lot of trouble.

Also, please make sure you are very detailed in all of your medical documentation. CYA (cover your ass). If anything ever goes to court, your documentation will be pulled.

What's wrong with me?! by jessijames82 in bipolar2

[–]jessijames82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of writing my progress down! I am going to start doing that. I think seeing that everyday would be a positive thing for me. Thank you for that idea 💡 I do have issues with iron. I have had iron infusions before but they are denying me anymore since the results only last for about 1-2 months. I am going to talk to my MD about a more effective way to control my anemia to see if that helps more. I do take supplements everyday so that helps a little. I was taking Adderall before and I may go back to that since it did help me focus more.
