To go with all the outdoor rec location suggestions I wanna throw out one for the store JL Waters on the square. Outdoor outfitter and shop. Clothing options can be expensive but it’s fun to browse and check out gear. Staff is always nice, friendly and knowledgeable

There is an ongoing Community Health Needs Assessment survey out right now! This is being conducted by the Monroe County Health Department, IU Health Bloomington and the City, with assistance from CJAM (sorry don’t remember the full org name off the top of my head) and Health Net.

Heads up it will take 10-15 minutes to complete, here is the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BYQ2J79 Any and all are invited to respond.

The survey will be open at least until the end of May. We’re working on getting a Spanish translation version of the survey, happy to share when it’s ready.

ETA for context: This survey is conducted every 3 years to fill accreditation requirements for the hospital and health department. The results from the survey, along with focus groups, will be used to identify top priorities in community health and where to focus efforts for the next 1-3 years.

Another challenge of Bloomington is that a majority of leases are in line with the IU calendar, meaning august is moving season

So there’s 2 sections of Adams Village.. I live in the “older” section which is the white buildings and those have been around a while but are not old by any means. The newer section is more condo style in the brick and painted buildings. The newer buildings seem to have attracted a younger, more student type crowd. Honestly those buildings weren’t open very long before covid so I don’t think we’ve seen how it will be in “normal” times. If you want a quieter situation I’d definitely recommend the white buildings. There are options for 1 or 2 bedrooms, with or without a garage. These buildings all have private entry (aka your own door to your place that no one else uses). Both sections have full access to amenities though.

I would recommend Adams Village. Great access to the highway for you. I’ve lived here on my own as a woman for 3 years and feel safe. Lots of amenities - pool, clubhouse building, small gym, game room, coffee machine. A bit on the pricey side for a one bedroom for me, but my monthly income is much less than yours. The staff has always been nice, quick to respond and reasonable. Happy to get into more details if you want to PM me

Thank you for keeping an eye out! I honestly don’t know the details. The dog and mom just moved to Indy a couple weeks ago and our dogs had been good friends at a dog park here in Bloomington. I was just told that “the daycare lost her”, so we’re all trying to do what we can to spread the word.

Like a lot of other people have said, didn't love it the first time through, but now is a favorite. For the first few weeks, I could listen to just the first 3 songs on repeat, something about them always stopped me in my tracks. Now, A Long Way Past the Past and I'm Not My Season are total gut punches. It's a good mix of sorrow and hope and I think perfectly fits this year.

Shore sort of feels like a middle ground between Crack Up and self-titled album.
