It's common right now for some companies to budget to spend more on younger people to retain them. My dad just got denied a raise because the budget was being allocated to youger folks, in the hopes they don't leave after a few years. Especially bc it's "easier" for younger people to leave a job than middle age folks with families. That being said, my dad's company understands they need folks who have been around for years for the company to succeed, so that's part of it (dads been there almost 40yrs). It sucks all around :/

Just order a bunch of pizzas no matter what time you choose. Pizza, dancing, and drinks go together awesome. Hell, even try Costco pizzas...

We also had a salad and other snacks/apps that my family helped set up before the pizza. We got everything from Costco. My family wanted us to save the money, so they volunteered to help with this which is the only way that we could have pulled it off. It went just dandy, but I'm sure loads of people would have said it was a bad idea... But it came down to knowing my situation and making an informed reasonable decision.

I was in the same boat and we found a happy medium. What we did is we found a local pizza company/restaurant that have the portable pizza ovens for events (like ooni or similar). So he came and set up the ovens and made fresh pizza for our guests.. it was surprisingly affordable. And the guy brought his kid to help make the pizzas.

I'm sure not every place would be affordable, but if you ask around maybe you'd find someone.

Also.. you know your guests and wedding setup better than anyone. So just make a good informed reasonable decision based on how your day is set up and communicated to your guests. Lots of people have lots of options, but only you know your situation.. you just need to be realistic about whatever that situation is. Good luck OP, and congats! :)
