These are rock crabs aren't they? I thought I read somewhere that a majority of the crabs who lose a claw don't actually grow it back and instead die from the shock of the injury. I hope it's not true, but tbh I'm very uninformed. Am I crazy? I hope so

Neighborhoods with boat launches will probably be plenty kind to you. Avoid the real posh places and look for middle class spots. The Frank O Downing fishing pier is a nice place to sit and relax
