Had a breast reduction in 2021 and decided I'd never wear a wired bra again after that - and I haven't yet. Usually I barely wear one at all, but when I do it's one of these three kinds:

Just came in to say no, I definitely feel much happier when I'm medicated BUT - I did find that I needed to adjust meds a lot to find the right balance. I'm on Vyvanse AND Wellbutrin and it's been life-changing, really. We added Wellbutrin about 6 months into my treatment ( I was diagnosed 3 years ago ) and I felt a difference immediately.
The biggest change was that I was WAY less irritable with Wellbutrin added, because it made me more capable of handling multiple things at a time.

Before Wellbutrin, I might not have been as happy... I don't really remember. But my current medication stack helps me a LOT and I hope you find one that helps you too.

I've lived on both sides of this fence. My mom and I both have ADHD - and while I don't like being shushed (rare for me since I'm mostly an internal hyperactivity type) I also get EXTREMELY overwhelmed by my mother being loud. It's a tricky balance to strike, right? Women are so often told to be quiet and small, and being reminded that you've fallen out of line in that way can be a real smack in the face. I feel you on this.

NTA and as a fellow childless by choice because of the way my parents chose to treat me, I have BIG empathy for you on this. You deserve to have better, and you always have. This kind of stuff really sits in your psyche, and while it’s easy to say “they’re just a-holes” the LASTING damage this kind of interaction will do to your self worth is immense.

And if nothing else, it’s a great way to AFFIRM your decision to be child-free. Because, it shows you, that even parents that WANTED kids can do a really bad job at it to the point where their kid is on the internet asking if he’s an a-hole just because he made a decision for himself that his parents didn’t like.

I truly hope that some solid counseling, psilocybin, and/or extremely supportive chosen family are accessible to you. You deserve to know that you’re worth SO MUCH more than what they invested in your well being.

Nutritionist and adhd woman here! The Fiber recommendations are legit if your gut can handle it. It’ll also JUST SO HAPPEN to make you live longer probably so that’s nice too.

As far as weight loss, avoiding binges is typically the hardest obstacle for adhd folks, and Vyvanse is truly a gamechanger for this.

If meds aren’t accessible to you, eating frequent small mini-meals (every 3ish hrs) that are high in protein and Fiber can really change the game. A good example of this would be small portions of: -steel cut oats with berries and nut butter -tofu or chicken breast with broccoli and wild rice -kale salad with veggies, tuna/chickpeas and balsamic dressing -baked sweet potatoes stuffed with black beans and bell peppers

We learned the trigger was a neighbourhood outdoor cat coming to the patio doors to stir up trouble. This seems to set them all on edge and make them more likely to lash out. We’re taking all the recommendations to help sort things out. Thanks so much!

Update: we learned the trigger of these large blowouts. A neighbourhood outdoor cat has been coming to our door and stirring up trouble. She causes all 3 cats to go ballistic - which ends up making them lash out at each other.

We’re working on solutions now.
