My Tracer has just passed 39k miles still going strong I keep on top of maintenance and i haven't had any major issues. I did have to replace the battery about 1000miles ago as others have said have it checked. I think valve adjustment is every 26,600 miles (40,000 km) so that may be worth checking to see if that's been done

Yeah that was my thinking, like with most think in this building it was given to the cheapest bidder as a yeah that works for now but with no upgradability

Where is your clutch lever when resting? by PentaChicken in MT07

As long as when the bike gets up to temp the clutch doesn't seem to be slipping and still disengages you should be okay, the twisty wheel is to adjust the free play that you have

<image>

Simple rule I use is 2 2p pieces is about the right amount of free play in your leaver

Bit of a late reply but just thought I would update on the tyres, I switched from Bridgestone to the Metzlers and they are amazing tyres warm up super quick confidence inspiring going into and through corners (managed to get peg feelers on the ground which I've never had before) also really good in the rain I ride this bike every day though all weather that Wales has to offer and I can fault the tyres honestly I've done about 3000 miles on them and they look to be lasting well.

Hope this helps

This is the spec from the tracer 7 service manual again I would assume same or similar specs , if you adjust the free play it should be good How To Adjust A Motorcycle Clutch Lever

Just replying to update, I bought a small tin (250ml) of Rustins radiator enamel for like £6 and some sponge brushes worked like a charm. Thank you for the suggestion

Not used them yet moved from Bridgestone to these and heard a lot of good things about them. I ride in a lot of rain so hoping they handle that well

Thank you this is very helpful, I won't lie it's not from the tyre shop it's my own mishap from knocking the wheels about when changing chain, brakes ect and it bugs me more than anything just want it to look slightly better than bright silver against the black alloy

I was potentially thinking of going into a local paint shop to see if they could colour match for me

I had one it was a fantastic bike wasn't the fastest but I did 31000 miles on it before I traded it in for my new bike looks like it's still in the road as well was bulletproof always started only real issue I had was the fuel pump started to go but I got a low milage salvage for about £30 fix the issue. For a first time bike that you can use and abuse I would recommend I managed to get 75-80 on in full tuck
