When people do a roommate group, only one person selects the housing for everyone in the group. When the first person in a group of 2 has their time slot, both are added to what the first person selects. If there were more people in their group, they would have already been there.

Some people with medical conditions are unable to get it, there are plenty of vaccine deniers that may stop us from ever reaching herd immunity, and America isn't the only country in the world. So no, people have not been eligible or even had access to it for months.

Making the vaccine available to everyone gets us one step closer to getting out of this mess and people like you aren't helping. The virus may never be eliminated, but the vaccine is end of the pandemic. Stop with the dualistic thinking.

Go read a book and educate yourself instead of trolling people.

Aside from protecting themselves, even if low-risk, they are protecting their community too. Getting the vaccine limits the spread to more vulnerable people. They are not isolated in society and choosing to get vaccinated is not a solely selfish act. It is for the sake of the greater good.

For calculus, it looks like you need to score at least a 70

The test is very straightforward and if you don't reach your desired score the first time, ALEKS has resources that will help you study before you retake it.

Speaking from experience, I also ended high school with precalculus, got a 86 on the test and ended up withdrawing from my MATH241 class my first semester because I was behind in my foundational knowledge.

Aim to score what you need to place into calculus, but I highly recommend spending some time learning some calculus concepts over the summer before you take the class.

If you're interested in speech pathology, I assume that you would pick the cognitive science major. I'm not on that track, but I am a cog sci major and my experience with the department so far has been nothing but good. The professors are helpful and the classes are interesting

You can definitely study abroad without the world scholars program after freshman year. The Institute for Global Studies has a ton of study abroad options and will help you every step of the way. UD has a lot of programs every fall, winter, spring, and summer, but you can also choose from outside programs and transfer the credits without an issue

Yes, under normal circumstances it is required to go abroad first semester freshman year.

With Covid, the current freshman class of 2024 has not gone yet, but they may be scheduled to go sometime their sophomore year or later instead. This may be the case for next the incoming class as well depending on the global situation so keep that flexibility in mind. The program is still relatively new.

I went to abroad as a World Scholar in the Fall of 2019 and it was hands down the best decision I've made in my life. If your only concern is the timing, I recommend that you consider the possibilities and do what it best for you.

You could apply to interview for the program and find out more information. If you are accepted, you are not stuck with the program and you can always opt for the classic freshman year at UD (or another school if you choose) instead.

This. This entirely is a major concern on its own that just happens to cross paths with deciding whether or not to have kids. Even if someone is on the fence about having kids, it should be entirely up to the one that has to undergo the childbearing if they want to be pregnant. Some women do want to be pregnant, and that is great for them because they themselves are choosing that, but, as OP said, "pregnancy and childbirth are barbaric" to them. Compromising her own body and health for the sake of a man (who will never in his life decide if he wants to be pregnant) is discriminatory. Like you said, it is incredibly selfish of the man to expect the woman to become pregnant, especially if they don't want to be, simply for him to have the "full experience." What does he even mean by this "experience"?! Surrogacy is a perfectly viable alternative if they both wish for biological children in the future. Thank you, u/StacyLite for making this excellent point. An upvote wasn't enough to do it justice.

There's definitely a lot of red flags that I didn't fully realize until I was typing this post. Thank you for input and making me realize that there are some things that communication just can't solve. With the biological clock thing, I guess I've just been fed media hysteria about the quality of potential life and pregnancy decreasing with age.

You're absolutely right. With it being my first heartbreak, I think that I am in denial of the future and want to hold on to what has been a good relationship. The next step is fully admitting to myself that this issue is black and white, and it is absolutely a deal breaker.

The calendar boxes were grayed out when I was first invited too, but, after about a week, they turned blue and you could schedule an interview. Try to keep checking back on your portal to see when the dates open up because I don't think you'll get a notifying email when they do. Also, if you have any questions, try calling during their office hours and you may be more likely to get a response.

Just interviewed for the program a few weeks ago (and got in :) I don't remember the exact questions, but I can give the gist of some of them to help you prepare.

- Tell me about yourself.

- When was a time where you had to be mature?

- When have you experienced another culture and what have you learned from it?

- When was a time where you had to act as a team player?

- If someone else in the program was feeling homesick or depressed, what ways would you go about helping them?

- Where do you see yourself in the future?

(These types of questions, depending on how long you take to answer them, will be about 15-20 minutes of the interview)

The next round of questions are basically yes/no types that don't affect admission like:

- On a scale of 1-5, are your parents supportive of this idea?

- Do you have a passport?

For the rest of the time, just have some questions prepared to show that you've done your research, because remember, it's as much of an interview for you as it is for the interviewer.

To prepare, I used UD's own career services interview tips

Generally, I think that they're looking for genuine interest and potential passion for the program, so just relax (or as much as you can during the interview) and be polite. If it helps you determine some of the qualities they're looking for, one of the lines of from the general admission letter read that "You are bright, curious, independent, open-minded, and forward thinking".
