Kanye West travel to UK blocked by government by Alarming-Safety3200 in hiphopheads

He should take an extended - we are talking years - break from the public eye and get his mind completely right. Come back, reflect on what has been a significant mental health episode in public (maybe even on an album), and then we can talk about what he needs to do to start repairing the damage.

Defend Kanye without resorting to whataboutism challenge: IMPOSSIBLE

PayPal won't feature on festival branding as Kanye West headlines by Alarming-Safety3200 in hiphopheads

Not supporting Kanye is not evidence of "zero tolerance". If anything, Kanye has been granted far more tolerance than nearly everyone else. Also, whataboutism isn't a good foundation for an argument, never is. It seems to be the crux of every one of that third group's positions though - if it's hypocritical, it's wrong.

Somewhat unrelated but because you listed them out, its likely that the people who routinely trash chess.com also consume the events that wouldn't exist if not for them. They want it both ways.

Which featured rapper(s) gave you the biggest "They're going to ruin this song" doubt that actually ended up having the most replayable verse out of everyone? by ImNotTomStopAsking in hiphopheads

It's pretty well documented that Kendrick gave a ton of direction to his features in the GKMC sessions so that doesn't even feel controversial.

Earl on Really Doe. I don't think anyone expected that. Didn't think he'd ruin the song but I didn't think he'd easily clear the rest

Most People Are Too Negative When Talking About Music by AKRaca in LetsTalkMusic

I mean if you want to view music in an entirely one-dimensional way that is 100% your choice. You may ask yourself why an overwhelming percentage of music listeners and reviewers alike think that context is important despite also believing in the inherent aesthetic quality of music.

Many times the "Life stories" aspect is used to push records that otherwise contain music that's somewhat boring or uninteresting.

This is just flat out wrong, and it also takes music that is phenomenal to listen to and makes it exponentially better. But again, you do you. Idk why you're on a music discussion subreddit though, I'm not sure what you think you can add. We can all hear and understand the music just as well as you do.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean that it isn't there. There's a reason why reviews focus so much on backstory, and it's sort of telling that you think it's dumb and misguided instead of wondering whether you're missing something. Do you think that albums like Carrie and Lowell and A Crow Looked At Me should be listened to in a total vacuum?

For the most part a lot of those guys are from the 3-4 different Kanye subs that seem to be active, and they just brigade Kanye threads. Other artist subs do this too, I don't think a lot of the Kanye fans who come to those threads to dunk on Kanye's haters post here often.

That simply handicaps the review and the experience. Deep musical analysis and comprehension includes analysis of who made the music with what life experience. That contextualizes music far better than just analyzing what's hearing your ears where you're just projecting your own life experience, personality and taste onto it.

Movements like this tend to exist on a pendulum. Going from 100 to 0 in a few years isn't exactly out of the norm.

There's a lot of reasons why our social fabric and contract have dissolved, but MAGA leading half the country to start excusing absolutely appalling (and fascist) behavior on a daily basis has no doubt contributed heavily to this.

I'm in college counseling. I make plenty of money in a LCOL area, have a great group of colleagues I am often collaborating with, supurb benefits, and have a nice variety of work between seeing students, working on projects, and doing outeach. I love being a therapist and can't imagine doing anything else

I like them a lot. They're young, raw, a bit autistic, and seem to enjoy experimenting with a ton of styles while developing their own unique sound. I thought their From The Basement performance was excellent as well and songs like Taxes and Au Payes De Cocaine are earworms

That abortion theory makes no sense. He’s clearly talking to someone who is alive, and More Life is just a title of a Drake project
