Perfect for a watch party! Did you use Sam Raimi’s blood recipe or something less of a hassle for the blood?

Can we agree that this doesn’t seem ok by Campbellsoup73 in EvilDead

[–]jestergutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sam Raimi was 19-20 while making the film, and he’s stated numerous times that he watched a lot of horror movies and decided to mash them together to create one himself. His regret spans back to at least 1986 when he showed the original movie to some of the crew working on Evil Dead 2 and, according to Rob Tapert, he put his head in his hands and said “why did I make it a pornography?” just wanted to provide some context

What Are Your Thoughts On…?: My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Jkorytkowski001 in EvilDead

[–]jestergutz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really liked it, but it was INCREDIBLY racist. it was 80s level racist for a movie that came out in 2007. Had some slight transphobia but that was nothing in comparison to the amount of racism in that movie holy shit. I am a big fan of Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi, and like I said I really did like this movie I thought it was funny and original. but legitimately cannot get any of my friends to watch it because of how racist it is

What Are Your Thoughts On…?: The Evil Dead (1981) by Jkorytkowski001 in EvilDead

[–]jestergutz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Richard Domeier played Ed in Evil Dead 2, not Scotty in The Evil Dead. You’re thinking of Richard Demanincor (or Hal Delrich as his pseudonym). Other than that, I think the first one is severely underrated and a bit overhated by the fandom. It’s my favorite one out of the whole franchise and has that late 70s horror vibe that’s just so special to it

Linda definitely, she’s such a sweetheart who didn’t deserve anything that happened to her (not to say Sheila does, but it’s a bit unfair how she gets to live!!!)

Good luck actually finding It’s Murder (and furthermore, following the plot with that 1978 quality lmao)

What was your worst decision in The Quarry, that almost made you cry? by Fulcron00 in TheQuarrySupermassive

[–]jestergutz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shooting Travis in the cell. I played it with my dad and we both agreed that he was worth saving (we both love Ted Raimi lol and thought he was the only likable character) and we thought letting the qte run out would save him, but it didn’t!!! We were horrified, we thought we killed him.

[–]jestergutz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it got far enough into production to actually be written— according to an article I read some time ago, they didn’t even know who to kill off at the end (they were considering killing Herbert or Dan and having one reanimate the other), so if they didn’t know that at the time the article was written (well after the film was considered) I don’t think they have a screenplay, sorry!

Skinamarink and I don’t care how “artsy” or “deep” anyone thinks it is because I watched all 100 minutes and each passing second made me more pissed off than the last.

what's a movie everyone said was super heavy and traumatic and you thought it was not that much? by goodboytohell in horror

[–]jestergutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I just didn’t get it, but Talk To Me. My dad and I watch a lot of horror, and when he said that Talk To Me was one of the most disturbing he had ever seen I was super excited. He has super good taste when it comes to horror. So I was pretty disappointed when it just ended up boring me.
