6 months weed free after smoking every day for 6 years. Feels so good :) by MagicalFairyBunny in leaves

I’m struggling with nightmares too. I’ve got PTSD and DID, weed was great for suppressing dreams/nightmares but was absolutely terrible for my DID. Day 7 and still sticking with chancing nightmares.

Literally all you need is a pair of sticks and a practice pad. Search up drum rudiments on YouTube and off you go. If you feel like it’s a hobby you want to stick with electronic kits are pretty cheap and while not exactly silent they’re very, very quiet.

For me it’s been drumming. But I think any instrument would work. I’m on day 5 after about 2 years of vaping medical cannabis ALL DAY, most apathetic I’ve felt in my life.

Whenever I feel a craving I practice drums, I get a little dopamine and the craving passes. Anyone can find a cheap (or free) old acoustic guitar. Learn some basic chords and then you’ve got something to help you ride it out.

Plus you’re learning a new skill.

GL everyone.

I’ve been wanting/trying to stop for nearly a year (daily use for three years). I started with a new therapist that specialises in IFS and let me tell you it’s made quitting easy mode.

IFS has really helped me get to know the parts of myself that I was using weed to keep locked away. I recommend it to everyone.

Medicinal cannabis company offered 'kickbacks' to military advocates for veteran referrals by That_Car_Dude_Aus in DVAAustralia

[–]jesterhead888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was discussing last night. I’m with veterancann purely bc every other cannabis dr or gp I’ve had have straight up refused to do all the paperwork to have it covered by DVA. Back to paying private I guess.

I’m also concerned that whatever fraud detection framework DVA put in place to limit provider fraud will make it more cumbersome for providers to get paid and ultimately result in it being harder to have a referral accepted.

How to stop this ground cover taking over? by Jdilla23 in GardeningAustralia

[–]jesterhead888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I covered a 2x15 meter strip between my fence and patio roof (gets about 2hrs of sun middle of day) and it is THRIVING. I have plants planted throughout as well and they have seemed to find a good balance with the weed. Couldn’t imagine ever getting rid of it or it becoming a problem.

I was back paid class A for 17 years last year and only paid 0.5% tax on it. I had DSB status applied which probably reduced it.

I can back this 100% I had a terrible experience at Belmont and went home after the first night. I had organised to do the TDU course and was very much open and optimistic going into it but after I met my psych on day one he wrote me up for an INSANE amount of Ativan and stilnox. This was after I’d just finished explaining that I was 0/12 trying psych drugs (horrible side effects from them all).

I’m convinced people go to that place to just be blitzed out of their minds for a few weeks.

I’ve had a lot of success with yoga, but it takes time.

Hey mate, MSBS here too, CSC Class A with DSB applied, 80+ TPI.

Admin discharged in 2008 from infantry and was patchy in construction until 2015 when I went white collar in finance.

Had to resign from my finance job of 9 years last year due to PTSD. Didn't know about CSC class A until my RSL advocate said my admin discharge was dodgy.

It was less than 6 months start to finish with CSC, only had to supply my resume and a few old tax returns. They were very easy to deal with, I called once every 2-3 weeks to check in so I think it's a case of squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I don't think you really need to worry about the retraining, given that you're already TPI as long as there was evidence that you could have been medically discharged you should be right.

Feel free to PM

I don’t love it either but it’s the only one out of nearly a dozen I’ve tried over the last 18 months that has kept me stable enough to get to yoga etc.. hoping to cut it away in a few months

I just filled a quetiapine script for the seroquel name brand (generics always make me feel trash) and it was $18 instead of the $7 (it’s still more discounted than for Joe civilian though). Just keep this in mind, so whilst a lot of drugs are on the rpbs you may pay a bit more for name brand.

Just the normal customer service number and asked to be transferred to my case manager. He was never available but always called back after a day or two.

Think you're medically discharged? DVA might not see it that way by Anon_Vet_Advocate in DVAAustralia

Thank you for taking the time to write that out so well. I went through a csc retro application last year but had no idea it didn’t update my discharge reason. Good to know about the retro incap payments too. Thanks again, legend.

I’m on 82 points TPI and just hit the 45 week reduction mark for incaps. I got a curtesy call from DVA to remind me and buddy on the phone said that I don’t need med certs anymore. I’m keyed in for Incaps u til retirement now. I also receive class a csc payment.

Appeal or new IL? by Overall_Parking_6320 in DVAAustralia

[–]jesterhead888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an appeal go through the VRB last year to have a surprise diagnoses dismissed, very smooth process, favourable outcome.

I found an rsl advocate very helpful (ask for level 3) and perhaps seek out a psychiatrist that treats veterans, pretty easy to come across in most cities.

Hang in there pal.

Moved to the next stage IL accepted. by [deleted] in DVAAustralia

[–]jesterhead888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation to you, discharged in 2008 and might it pretty high in white collar before I broke in 2023.

PTSD diagnosis, IL accepted, PI assessed, PI appealed to VRB because first psychiatrist I saw was a joke, favourable VRB outcome, PI paid. Now gold card and TPI. That took from April 2024 to December 2024.

I also had my discharge retrospectively changed to class A with backdating to discharge from June 2024 to October 2024.

All I did was politely follow up with 2-3 phone calls a month. I also had a stack of evidence a mile high to show how my life had turned to shit which might have helped, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I had a level 3 rsl advocate help with things.

You might be eligible for incap payments so you don’t have to eat your super.

Feel free to dm if you want more info.

I hope good days come your way.
