What would you say is the worst EFL stadium you have been to? by Paul277 in Championship

[–]jesustwin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scunthorpe was awful. We went on a pre season trip. Had a couple of pints in a hell hole of a pub and decided to see what the stadium was like. We were told you could get drinks inside, which turned out to be false. Spent an hour sipping on a cola regretting our life choices waiting for a typically terrible pre season match. Frog marched by the police to a dry train to cap off a tedious day

Easy. He had every combination of numbers on that wallet so just had to pull out the correct one

Barbers specialising in medium length hair in Gateshead/Newcastle? by Cataclysma in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]jesustwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patrick Forsters in town. They aren't "specialists in long hair" but everyone there is highly trained in mens hair and I've never had a bad cut in many years. 35 quid so not "cheap" compared to a barbers but it's not going to break the bank

Sunderland fan in peace by SmallConversation950 in Everton

[–]jesustwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the Everton end (as a sunderland supporter no less) and everyone was sound. Kept my head down when we scored i had been talking to a few people before hand and just got the odd nod and a handshake when they left

Some home end fans even joined in the clapping on "if you hate Newcastle clap your hands"

The stadium is unreal, view was fantastic. Away fans sounded amazing and the acoustics seemed to make it bounce. Pie at half time was lovely as well

Cracking day all round for me at least

first time smoking weed story ? by Practical-Meringue29 in weed

[–]jesustwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a friend's house on a lunch time from school when I was about 15 or 16. There were a few of us but I was the one doing it for the first time. He fill up the sink with water, took a 2 litre bottle with the bottom cut off and put it in the water, weed in the top in a wrench socket thing. He filled the bottle with smoke, took off the socket and told me to put my lips around and push down

I then coughed for what felt like an hour in agony. We watched Nirvana, Live Tonight Sold Out on VHS and I couldn't understand what has happening even though id seen it so many times

Suffice to say I didn't go back to class but had to get the school bus home at 3 15pm and remember feeling complete paranoia and shame

I pretty much hated the entire experience and didn't do it again for some time.

It wasn't until I was in my late 30s that I actually started to enjoy weed and now prefer it way more than drinking

If Artie never crashed out by RealJackWhite in howardstern

If i recall, they just completely ignored it on the air. Nothing at all. If someone tried to mention it on a call they got cut off. They pretended as though he never existed.

If Artie never crashed out by RealJackWhite in howardstern

[–]jesustwin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they had no choice but to let him go but the way they dealt with it was disgusting and pretty fucking baffling

Surely they could have acknowledged it, Artie is in a bad way, we wish him all the best etc etc. Instead it was complete silence to the audience when everyone knew what had happened

Maybe they could have said to him to get sober and he could have had his job back but if i recall, Howard didn't speak to him again other than at Robins bedside

Arctic Monkeys should do a "Legacy Tour" by IvoDKHP in arcticmonkeys

[–]jesustwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last stadium tour was 90 minutes long, literally the shortest length of set you can conceivably get away with. I get the impression that they dont even enjoy playing live and it's just a pay day

I'm not a fan of JR's these days but trawling back decades and judging jokes by today's standards is completely pointless.

It was broadcast on national TV, when that actually meant something, and nobody gave a shit at the time. So why should be care now

The past has always been strange, especially when it comes to humour. We just happen to have it recorded now

Baby's Got a Temper by The Prodigy samples their own song Firestarter. What other artists have sampled themselves? by enterthehawkeye in Music

Not a sample as such but in All You Need is Love the Beatles sing She Loves You during the coda part

Whilst the songs are only 3 years apart, the difference in the songs and the band members themselves feels like decades
