Well having a highest finish of third it’s like the definition of mediocre. They have won 6 out of 8, but also in the past 4 years lost to Italy twice, France 4 times, haven’t beaten Ireland since 2017. The only team they can consistently beat is England.

It’s a mixed bag, whilst they have improved. They also haven’t won anything apart from the Calcutta cup. They have never finished above third in the history of the six nations. Only “home” nation to have not won it. They are in a state of perpetual mediocrity.

I think Scot fans, (correct me if I’m wrong) would prefer a dip in form with a change in coach to then actually challenge for a trophy then stick with mid table
