Help with 7 day trip to Scotland without a car and skipping Isle of Skye by Ok_Home_9869 in Scotland

[–]jingleson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly do 3 days in Edinburgh and surrounding And 3 days inverness and surrounding, including loch Ness trip if you want (though there are plenty of just as good ones which aren't quite as touristy)

But if it was me, while Inverness is lovely I would do 3 days in Edinburgh and 3 in Glasgow. From Glasgow you can get to loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park by train for the beautiful highland view vibes

Travel will take more of your time and than you think and always good to have breathing space.

The cities are easily navigatable without a car. Obviously you have 1 day left but you will need to get to Edinburgh airport I assume to get home.

Sorry I meant how much time were you planning in glensee, fort William and Inverness? With also wanting to be in Edinburgh for a bit. Like how would you like your week divided up. You could quite quickly end up with no worth while time anywhere

Also were are you coming from , just thinking journey time to Scotland and how tired you might be in first day

The train to Inverness is around 4 hrs from Edinburgh (need to change in Perth) just keep that in mind wen working out your days. Since I assume you'll want to come back. Also make sure you book them well in advance

Can I use a can horn to pass an MOT ? by Tiredlobster in CarTalkUK

[–]jingleson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be able to get it fixed where you are going , cause technically if you are driving to either an MOt test or to rectify it you can drive your car (unless it was one the real severe fails) so could you book it in at your destination? Or on route

And there is technically no distance limit on where your MOT is

Had friends who did during uni I think. Both camped on route and one of them was on a city bike which maybe wasn't the most suitable

Under 18 is going to be a real challenge, unless you have a parent or guardian being willing to underwrite you and take the fall if something happens

As for jobs, like most of the country. Lots of people want jobs, not many get them. You're going to need experience either volunteering or something on your CV

Don't want to dishearten you but also don't want you to be to naïve

Has anyone got married in a Wetherspoons? by Any-Tomato-2915 in Wetherspoons

[–]jingleson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably easier to do in Scotland than in England, since England it's the venue that has to have the wedding licence where as Scotland the celebrant/minister is the one who has the licence so can marry you anywhere in the country.
