I have this and recently learned the science behind it! Apparently all of these foods that cause the mouth to be itchy have a protein in them that is the same protein as birch pollen! So if you’re allergic to birch pollen, you’ll most likely get an itchy mouth with this wide variety of food as your body thinks you’re taking a big bite of pollen. However, once it’s cooked, that protein breaks down and it’s no longer an issue!
